If custom your need to start tapping the Del. key continuously as soon as you turn on the computer. If store bought you need to read the screens to see which keystroke gets you into the BIOS (setup) screens and tap just like I described.Do not connect a PS/2 keyboard while the system is under power. Don't use adapters on it either. Repo

I've been trying to get it to work again but I'm running into this message http://discussions.virtualdr.com/showthread.php?35398-Keyboard-error-or-no-keyboard-found which reads CMOS checksum error - Defaults loaded. My keyboard, however, is not responding at all. Here is a pic to show the screen I get stuck on. Can't press F1 or DEL since my keyboard won't work. I have cmos checksum already tried plugging my keyboard PS/2 connector to my mouse port and although that did bring about an improvement(my keyboards caps/num lock indicator lights do blink when I power up the CPU) the keyboard is still not responding after it comes to the screen above. If I plug it into the keyboard PS/2 port then the keyboard lights don't even blink when I power up the CPU. The mobo is newer cos I replaced my busted mobo about two years cmos checksum error back or so. Please do assist, I would really appreciate it. Intend to use this for downloading etc for as long as it lives. Thanks! [vRz] HellHunter Originally Posted by domho7 Yes u're ****ing right!! CHIO like my daughter but not much FEATURES!!! HA! HA! I connected a keyboard, a monitor and a mouse to it, went to boot up and I get the error message. Keyboard error or no keyboard present. CMOS checksum error - Defaults loaded. Press F1 to continue, DEL to enter Setup (yeah right!) I did a search for help on this but all I come up with is about 200 results of posts by Ceh383 who happens to have the message in his sig. During POST the lights on the keyboard flash as they do with mine, so there is power going there. I'm using a PS2 to DIN(?) adapter for the keyboard, which is the same one I use for this keyboard. It works fine on this computer and the other keyboard works fine on my old P133. Any leads before I do something wrong? ------------------ Just trying to give others a friendly hand.
