I've got an ASUS P5N-e with dualcore 2.4 ghz, 8800gtx and an Apavia 680w power supply. With 6 gigs( 3 sticks of ram) it will boot up just fine, but when I have all four sticks installed it will do one of two things: it will boot to this screen: Award BootBlock BIOS V1.0 Copyright © 2000, Award Software, Inc. BIOS ROM checksum error Keyboard error or no keyboard present Detecting IDE ATaPI device ... Detecting floppy drive A media... Drive A error. System Hault. or it will boot up to the screen for my motherboard where I can press delete to enter BIOS but it freezes immediately as it gets to this screen. Back to top BC AdBot (Login to Remove) B

After almost a year, my Asus P5N32-e SLI Motherboard just froze. I had to do a hard reset. I entered the bios and un-overclocked everything. I saved my changes and that was the last time I was able to enter the bios. Since then, it won't post. All I get is Bios Rom Checksum Error. I opened a ticket with Asus since I bought it just under a year ago and they overnighted me a new BIOS chip. I was very excited to get my rig back up and running so I followed the instructions (no need really, just pop out the old one, pop in the new one) and cranked it up. ...Same exact problem. And I can't enter the bios. BIOS Rom Checksum Error. If I put the ASUS Motherboard driver in the CD Rom drive, it will attempt to flash the bios from the CD but it just halts at the screen that says File Name to Program : P5N32E.BIN Message : Please Wait! (which blinks incessantly). And if I don't put the disk in, it asks for a system disk in Drive A. I just want to default the bios and start fresh. I can't figure out why replacin

I managed to get past the continuous beeps by unplugging an old IDE hard drive that I didn't even notice was plugged in! but now it's just saying Quote: BIOS ROM checksum error Detecting floppy drive A media... on the screen. I don't even have a floppy drive! Is the bios fubared? I've not even managed to get into it to change any settings so it's not my fault Last edited by SidewinderINC; 12th Dec 2007 at 14:58. (Safety feature on some BIOS) I'd try resetting the CMOS, if that does nothing, RMA the board; Not worth the hastle. -Leezer- leezer3 View Public Profile Visit leezer3's homepage! DS3 broke twice with the "no post no beeps" problem now this one doesn't even boot out of the box.
