of my machine:Gigabyte GA MA790FXT-UD5POCZ3BE1600C8LV2G set @ 1333 8 8 8 24 1.5voltsAMD PhenomII x4 955BE Revision RB-C2, Stepping 2Seagate 1tb st31000528AS hd running IDE.2 HIS 4890 1GB cmos checksum error defaults loaded video cards xfiredLazer LZ 850 modular PSUTTake Sword water cooled case - CPU and both video cards fitted with water blocks.Have tried a lot of different settings and can't shake the two beeps. Go into bios and load optimized defaults. Make sure all hardware is seen. Look for and undo anything that is not connected/running. When you configure the cmos and then reboot it does a warm reboot, that is power is never completely off. Thus the cmos settings remain even if the battery is bad. But if you do a complete shutdown, having a bad battery can cause those settings to be lost. So barring other hardware problems, a bad cmos battery is most likely the problem.message edited by DAVEINCAPS See in Thread ↓#1 OtheHill December 7, 2014 at 19:24:38 If you have the jumper in the clrCMOS position (usually 2&3) and have run the computer you are lucky you haven't damaged anything.Verify you are placing the jumper in the run position, not the clear position. You also need to perform that operation with not power to the motherboard. So, if your PSU has an on/off switch use that to interrupt the AC power or unplug the computer from the mains.Post a
