can still get it to print test pages (printer head alignment etc.) from my macbook. I dont really know too much about troubleshooting on macs. I read a little about someone who had a similar problem, and they said that they tried to repair permissions, and I found where to do so, but I am not sure if I should just go ahead a canon communication error between lens and camera repair them? I don't know if that is relevant though. I checked my system update and according to it, all my software is up to date. I really could use any help that any one could offer. The number of causes and fixes for print failures runs wide and deep across the Mac troubleshooting landscape. Here’s a checklist of the more common solutions. 1. Check the Print dialog box An exclamation mark in front of the printer’s name warns of trouble. After a failed print attempt, press Command-P again. You’ll likely see a badge icon, such as an exclamation mark, next to the communication error canon printer’s name in the Print dialog box. You may also see a message appear, explaining the cause of the failure and how to fix it. Find the right printer: One especially common scenario occurs if you print to more than one printer.
