(104) Connection Reset By Peer Fix
05:09 AM We are having a similar problem to those mentioned in https://community.ba...w-or-timing-outWeb browsing is much slower when proxied through the filter. We connection reset by peer solution have 30 users and a 10mb leased line so the 310 should be more than sufficient for our purposes. A speedtest.net gives a download speed of around 2.8 mb per second when traffic is passing through the https://www.cnet.com/forums/discussions/104-connection-reset-by-peer-error-292292/ filter compared to around 9.5 when it is not. We are also having a problem with some sites either being partially or totally inaccessible. In particular we are totally unable to access facebook.com when the traffic is proxied through our Barracuda 310 Filter (the filter is not in line so all traffic has to be proxied via the browsers). No block page is displayed, the page just eventually times out with the following error. The following error was https://community.barracudanetworks.com/forum/index.php?/topic/20718-some-websites-time-out-when-proxied-via-310-web-filter/ encountered:Read Error The system returned: (104) Connection reset by peerAn error condition occurred while reading data from the network. Please retry your request. We have tried adding Facebook to the whitelist to see if that makes a difference but it does not. Even adding a exception to the proxy in IE (or FireFox) to bypass the proxy for addresses beginning with facebook.com and fbcdn.net still result in the error shown above As soon as we untick the use proxy setting in IE or Firefox and connect directly the page displays fine. We have checked the firewall (cisco pix) and it is not blocking the filter from access traffic from the facebook IP addresses.I have tried clearing the cache, turning off caching, and explicitly telling the 310 not to cache facebook. I have also tried enabling proxies and even set up a user for whom nothing is blocked and still get the same issue. If I put in a rule to block facebook a block page does come up, and it is shown in the correct category, if it is not blocked we just get a timeout. It also does not seem to be a DNS issue as if I can resolve facebook.com to the correct ip addresses under dig in troubleshooting.I cannot think of anything else to try at this point and am hoping some
