2 From: Canada Posted:6/23/2009 5:06:00 AM # 1 Hi Everyone,I hope this finds you all well. BACKGROUNDI'm an intelligent guy with some knowledge of computers, but I'm no http://www.overclock.net/t/71166/intel-cpu-ucode-loading-error-what-to-do/20 expert. I won a Motherboardat a gaming clan event and I added it to a chip a friend gave me. Another friend helped assemble it and it runs, but it does have its issues which is why I'm here.My configuration is as follows:Motherboard: P5WD2-E PremiumChip: Intel Premium D CPU 4.0GHz 4.1GHzOS: Vista 64PROBLEMWhen I boot, the process https://vip.asus.com/forum/view.aspx?id=20090623034802953&board_id=1&model=P5WD2-E+Premium&page=1&SLanguage=en-us is interrupted by the message: Intel CPU uCode loading errorI press F1 and get to my Vista log-in screen, but my system regularly freezes and crashes and requiresa reboot. I've tried reinstalling Vista, but it crashes during the install because my internet connection is one of the most tenuous elements of this new system.QUESTIONDoes anyone have a suggestion as to how to get rid of this message by ensuring that my chip and mobo like each other? Thanks in advance for your assistance.peace. s Edit Reply Quote & Reply Ulrich Moderator Posts : 95312 Level : Tech Points : 20192 From: United States Posted:6/23/2009 5:46:00 AM # 2 Hi s..Microcode loading error generally mean that the BIOS does not have certain program parts that the processor needs to function properly. Greetings guys, I'm a long time lurker, and this is my first post! I did a search of the forums, and read over the FAQs', and did not find my problem listed on these boards - forgive me if I missed it somewhere. I get "Intel CPU uCode load cpu ucode loading error - please press F1 to continue" upon bootup. However, everything works fine after that, and the mb recognizes my Core 2 Duo 6600 and it recognizes both RAM sticks. **EDIT** The Mobo is Asus P5B Deluxe/WiFi-AP http://usa.asus.com/products4.aspx?l...79&modelmenu=1 CPU is Core 2 Duo e6600 RAM is CORSAIR XMS2 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM Unbuffered DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) http://www.newegg.com/product/produc...82E16820145590 I could format/partition the HD and install Windows XP just fine without problems. I did, however, google the problem, and some suggestions I found are: 1) update the bios 2) try beta bios' from asus 3) manually set the cpu settings in the bios 4) take out and re-insert the cpu in the mobo I have yet to try any of these, as it was late last night when I finished my computer build, and I went to sleep immediately. I'm at work right now. Will attempt some fixes when I get home tonight. I came to see if the community here knew of any other possible fixes I need to know about that I could try. Will post results if and when any of the fixes work for me. Also, offtopic, I noticed a popular mobo here is the P5W DH which is "Intel 975x". My P5B is "Intel P965" What is the difference? Thanks for your time Last edited by skalapunk; 08-23-2006 at 06:59 AM. Reply With Quote 08-23-2006,07:11 AM #2 mds47 View Prof
