Should I be worried? I recently threw interface crc error count fix a spare Samsung HD501LJ into my server for some extra storage and ran HD Tune Pro to do a quick SMART check. It came up saying the following: What exactly does this error mean? Furthermore, I though Ultra DMA http://www.overclock.net/t/706633/ultra-dma-crc-error-count was something to do with PATA drives only? This is a SATA drive. Should I be concerned? __________________ | Main Rig | i5-2500K @ 4.326Ghz | CM 212+ | Sabertooth P67 | 16GB Corsair Vengeance @ 1648Mhz | Asus GTX960 Strix DirectCU II OC 4GB | Silverstone ST75F-P | Fractal Design Define R3 | 1 x 250GB HDD | 3 x Dell U2412M | -Sk3tChY- View Public Profile Visit -Sk3tChY-'s homepage! You can try replacing the cable. "UDMA" in the variable name hints at the legacy of an older interface when SMART was first created. It's not suggesting that you have an IDE drive. rowan194 View Public Profile Find More Posts by rowan194 Find More Threads by rowan194 22nd January 2011, 6:30 PM #3 peter10001 Member Join Date: May 2010 Location: Netherlands Posts: 122 -Try different cable. -Look if cable connector is connected good with connector on mainbord/harddisk. -Other cables/parts can disstort the connection, but yours is low, so i do not thinks it's this. Put your cable different through your case, if possible. -Try a different controller connection. peter10001 View Public Profile Find More Posts by peter10001 Find More Threads by peter10001 22nd January 2011, 11:46 PM #4 issa2006 Member Join Date: Feb 2006 Location: AUSTRALIA (ADL) Posts: 3,113 smart errors + smart software can be wrong sometimes(esp with ssd) (chang power+data cable(swap them for a diff hdd plug in) pull drive(back up)(if you need to)

I installed HD Tune, and everything looked fine except it reports an Ultra DMA CRC Error Count Warning.I have tried using Intel's disk controller driver as well as the Standard AHCI SATA driver. Both report the same error, currently I am using the Standard driver as I understand it supports TRIM and the Intel driver does not.Is this normal behavior, or is there something wrong with the drive?Thank you,Dan Report Abuse Message 1 of 3 (9,618 Views) Reply Doctor_Hades SODIMM Sherpa Posts: 94 Registered: 01-13-2010 0 Re: Ultra DMA CRC Error Count Warning [Edited] Options Mark as New Bookmark Subscrib
