Try passing init = option to kernel-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------I was in the proccess of upgrading from version 1.050930 to Version 2.060706, I copied fix18 to the root of flash folder in My Network Places, shut down the unraid server, disconnected the hard drives (12), was not able to boot, so I turned server off, re connected hard drives, and now get message above. After doing a search on the internet I found that the problem could be bad USB Flash drive or ram memory , I have two memory sticks so I tried booting with only one and then only the other, same message.Anybody have any idea's ?ThanksRob Logged kuhnamatata Member Posts: 63 Re: crc error 6 freeing initrd memory on boot « Reply #1 on: July 09, 2006, 07:04:22 AM » Quote from: roblkuhnjr on July 08, 2006, 01:18:00 PMAnybody have any idea what the message below means during a re boot--------------------------------------------------------

Re: ESX 3.5U4 Upgrade and Issues Thread wdbarker Apr 6, 2009 5:58 AM (in response to Blizz) I'm very glad I could be of help - especially since I posted in the wrong thread!I was complaining about the changed simple.map in ESXi 3.5 crc error U4. Your path (/etc/vmware/pciids) doesn't even exist in ESXi, and, the devices weren't missing, they were labeled IDE.I'll snoop around and see if I can find an "Upgrad and Issues Thread" for ESXi 3.5 U4. Re: ESX 3.5U4 Upgrade and Issues Thread Kosch Apr 6, 2009 8:11 AM (in response to wdbarker) HiI've done a fresh install of crc error 6 ESX on our BL460c (Firmware maint 8.40) and everything has gone smoothly so far.I just presented the SAN storage to it (8 LUN's each about 600GB) have rebooted serveral times and I have noticed it has been very slow to come back up. Before SAN Storage total reboot time was under 6 minutes (shutdown, POST and startup ready for SSH access) was and now its well over 20 minutes The blades have a QLA2432 (HP OA idents them as QLogic QMH2462 4Gb) connected to an EVA6100 via 4GB sanswitch. Although looking at the ESX Host configuration it seems to be reporting the HBA's as "ISP2432-based 4GB FC to PCI Express HBA" rather than what I had on ESX 3.02 "QLA2432" Watching it through iLO (see attached screenshot) it seems to start to slow down when its loading the QLA Drivers. Has anyone else seen this or have any advice? Thanks odd san.PNG 33.7 K slow.PNG 51.9 K Like Show 0 Likes (0) Actions 77.
