CRC errors on ADSL? 6 posts Quitch "Lord of the Fleas" Ars Praefectus Tribus: UK Registered: Apr 22, 2003Posts: 3154 Posted: Fri Jul 03, 2009 4:00 pm As my ADSL provider allows me to choose my SNR and whether or not to use interleaving I'm trying to find a good balance. However I want to see if there's some general rule of thumb which can be adsl crc errors causes applied to percentage of CRC errors. Is there some particular point where the additional errors mean you're losing more from the additional errors than you gain from the better latency? Dropping packets will kill throughput a lot faster than any potential increase in link speed. That being said, though, the impact of dropped packets varies depending on the type of traffic you're pumping through. Certain kinds of traffic (gaming, voice, real time video, etc.) are a lot less forgiving of packet drops than normal web browsing, for example. Interleaving is best for pure throughput. However, the SNRM i

When errors occur in a packet, the CRC in most cases will pick it up and request the packet to be sent again. So CRC errors are an indication that you might have some excessive noise on the line. Although 205 errors in about 19 hours on the upstream is not too bad. Not ideal, but shouldn't affect your internet experience too much. Or

I'm not sure if anyone here can help me but y'all http://www.eightforums.com/general-support/61261-need-help-crc-errors.html have helped me A LOT in the past and I'm hoping y'all can https://community.plus.net/t5/Broadband/Normal-CRC-error-rate/td-p/969848 help me or at least point me in the right direction again Problem: My DSL modem keeps building up CRC Errors very fast (1500+ every 15minutes) and it keeps knocking out my internet when I try to surf. Fix attempts: I of course called my ISP and they sent over a crc error vet tech and he's done every from giving me a new modem to hanging a aerial wire. The last one actually gave me internet for a good 8hrs before being knocked out again but the issue is back again. After searching for what could be causes of the CRC errors that are within my power to change or fix and I ran across a lot crc error adsl of thread talking about CRC errors but they had to do with drives and unzipping files larger than 250mbs. Then one said that my mother board could be bad but after running windows memory diagnostics, I was put at ease (Was very worried lol) that it wasn't that. I would like to know if the CRC errors I'm having trouble with are the same as the one's I've read about. I also ran speccy to help provide more information on my machine and if someone could review it and let me know if I missed something or there is something I can fix, I would greatly appreciate it. http://speccy.piriform.com/results/X...gON3FURTRdYmhK Thank you again and if no one can help me here please don't delete or lock this thread until someone can point me in the right direction as to where I may be able to get the appropriate help. That is rather high. However, is interleaving disabled? If so, then you can expect high errors like these due to having no error correction and all correctable errors (if interleaving were to be enabled) becoming uncorrectable errors. In addition, to the errors all come in one
