A high number means that there are some small cable breaks somewhere along your line to the exchange. Best to call Telkom and get them to sort it out for you. When errors occur in a packet, the CRC in most cases will pick it up and request the packet to be sent again. So CRC errors are an indication that you might have some excessive noise on the line. Although 205 errors in about 19 hours on the upstream is not too bad. Not ideal, but shouldn't affect your internet experience too much. Originally Posted by Shaun108 CRC is Cable Read check. Check your phone-line and filters to make sure they are installed properly. If you have other phones on the line unplug them and see if the errors stop(possible bad filter). You would also try a different modem to see if the errors stop. CRC Errors can be an indicator of a problem but I have seen instances where customers got the errors and experienced no issues with the line. · actions · 2008-Jan-31 11:26 am · en102Canadian, eh?join:2001-01-26Valencia, CA en102 Member 2008-Jan-31 11:41 am How long has your modem been 'up' to see that number of errors ?I typically get 'some' errors,Home> wan ad perf near-end FEC e

The line is about 2850m long. Line quality round here is terrible, but I'd have expected a little better than this - a neighbour to him manages 4 Meg on their line with errors being tossed all crc errors dsl over the place. The noise margin is actually very good for this area, 15 is typical, but not only is the throughout nearly non existent but the connection repeatedly "goes away for a while". Is anything wrong with this, and what should he say to BT when he calls them? For voice the line does occasionally have noise (crackling
