Niki Narcotic Junior Member 04-14-2013 I've been trying to download LoL all weekend and I keep running into a CRC error saying that the files don't match the setup and that they may be corrupted. I've tried unistalling and reinstalling, updating Windows and .Net, changing my system configurations, and countless other solutions that have been posted in the forums. I've also tried downloading the game from a mirror. The game used to be installed on my computer and was fully-functional for most of last year, but my computer crashed late 2012 so I restored it back to the original factory settings and now I keep receiving the errors during download. One person said to just click "Ignore" so I ended up clicking Ignore through at least 200 different CRC errors before aborting the entire thing. There was a post from a few years ago about a temporary setup and patcher that I tried using; it got me passed the Install Wizard, but then the patcher would not open. Any ideas? I'm using a Dell Inspiron N5010 Thanks, Niki +3 Comment below rating threshold, click here to show it. sounds a bit fishy. Explain yourself young man ! heinohate12-11-2002, 10:53Installshield checks the CRC of any file. And when I burn the Cracked EXE instead of the Original EXE on CD he says "CRC error: The file...." during installation. And I want to know how to disable this option? RincewindTheWiz12-11-2002, 11:00Maybe this (http://www.fileforums.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=4464) is what you want ? It's a program to rebuild the installshield data files so you can insert for example a crack, but I don't have any experience with it. heinohate12-11-2002, 12:20I know I6comp, but it will not solve the problem. Following Problem: I want to burn FIFA2002. But I http://na.leagueoflegends.com/board/showthread.php?t=3339595 don't want just to make a dir with the Crack, I want to replace the Original EXE with the Cracked, so that I don't have to copy the crack to the game dir after installation. The Original EXE is not in a CAB File, its just in the main dir, but when I replace it the installation shows me the error. RincewindTheWiz12-11-2002, 12:29Mmmmm..... I'm afraid you're stuck with it. http://fileforums.com/archive/index.php/t-39904.html I don't know any feasible way to do that except debugging and patching the executable and that won't happen unless YOU can do it. And with the next official patch your trouble was all for nothing. Just put the crack in a different subdir and copy it over after you install. I know this isn't very handy, but trust me what you want to do will take an extraordinary amount of work for something that probably is outdated in a few weeks anyway. gh0sth@cker12-11-2002, 12:36Had a look at it myself there now out of interest. It does throw up an error during installation complaning about filesize not matching the data in the cab file (but it gives you the option to Ignore which will continue with the installation) I had a look in the cab files and extracted setup.cfg to have a look (what I'm looking for may be in some other file but I choose this one as a guess - ne ideas welcome). Had a look at the cfg file and it said this [Game] Category=EA SPORTS ProductName=FIFA 2002 LocalizedProductName=0 Executable=fifa2002.exe ProductGuiID=6C5A8BA1-8114-11D5-0090-B800902724B3 Icon=fifa2002.ico Region=en Is the ID the filesize that the exe should be? I'll have another look at a few other files.
when using installshield wizard NewsArchive02-20-2001, 01:00 AMHello, I am having a problem installing from the web http://community.installshield.com/archive/index.php?t-69205.html on Win 98 using installshield wizard and installfromtheweb. After clicking "Install Now" the installshield wizard appears and after 65% will stop with the following error message (translated from Dutch): setup cannot continue because of the following error: Data Error (cyclic redundency check) Please contact the software vendor or crc error try again at a later time. The installation went through fine on this machine before but I uninstalled everything and it is only now that the problem is seen when I try to run it again. From what I can make out the InstallFromTheWeb checks information about each crc error installshield file including CRC's - I think that this check matches files that are to be downloaded to the users machine. Could it be that this error would be seen because of the previous installation did not successfully uninstall? Anyone else seen this message or have any ideas on how to debug?
