This is what I read on the dbpoweramp website, but still a bit unsure what this means exactly, and if it is worth reconverting about 4,000 plus songs for. what is the decoder? is it something within the batch converter? a decoder checks to be sure there are no errors in the files and fixes them during conversion? or the batch converter adds something to the files so when they are played on a player of some sort, the player will be able to decode them? I will be using these mp3 albums on my ipod, would the CRC protection mean that the converted files had the errors fixed or have something so they there are no problems with playback on a device such as an ipod? Also, I have a bunch of albums in mp3 that I made using the batch converter, is there a way I can check them to see if I used the CRC protection and any of the other advanced settings in the batch converter? I am talking about after the fact after they have been converted? I ask because if I want this feature on or off for the converted files I can check them before doing any re converting, it would save me time. Last edited by Sossity; 09-20-2015 at 04:53 AM. have been around since the 1980's and contain uncompressed audio: 2 Channels, 16 bit, 44.1 KHz. Audio quality from Audio CDs is above perception, that is the general public cannot hear a difference between 16 bit and 24 bit (DVD-Audio or SACD), neither can they hear a difference between 44.1KHz and 96KHz or 192KHz (again DVD-Audio and SACD). There is a slight caveat in this last statement, in that in the last number of years there has been a loudness race, that is CDs produced now are volume compressed, that is the quiet parts are pushed up louder, https://forum.dbpoweramp.com/showthread.php?36843-CRC-error-protection-what-exactly-is-this so that when played on the radio or TV the track sounds louder (and more people will apparently purchase, a 1980's CD would sound quiet in comparison to one from 2005). The downside is that 16 bit CDs are no longer effectively 16 bit, the full audible range is not being used. 24 bit helps, but in the long run, the same fate (loudness war) might happen to https://www.dbpoweramp.com/spoons-audio-guide-cd-ripping.htm 24 bit discs. Layout An audio CD is often referred to as Red Book (because the technical details were enclosed in a red book), and consist of: Lead In Area Audio Tracks, each track is separated by 'gaps' of around 2 seconds Lead Out The design of audio CD players did not put a constraint on the player locating a track precisely, a player could jump roughly where the track starts this is why Lead In / Out and Gaps between audio tracks exist, these 'landing areas' contain silence. CD Disc Types Outside of standard audio CDs, exist CDs which are: Gapless (aka. live mix CDs) these discs do not have 2 second gaps between tracks, the idea is one track mixes into another and is popular with Dance, Enhanced CDs (CD Extra): a combination of audio, followed by a data session. This data session might have a video viewable on a computer, normal CD players are unaware of the enhanced part of the CD. Once copy-controlled CDs started appearing on the market, it was fashionable to have Trojans which auto-installed when the CD is inserted. Hidden Track One Audio (HTOA): before track 1 is a hidden track, playable on

I'm having a problem Ripping a CD Securely with Accurate Rip by any crc error good reputable software like EAC, DBPoweramp, Foobar2k etc with the CD titled SLAPSHOCK: PROJECT 11-41 By EMI Philippines Copyright 2002. I can say this CD has NO COPY PROTECTION as it was not indicated in the CD packaging. There is only 1 session in it as seen by ISOBUSTER which has the Track Files so no 2nd sessions or data files. crc error protection I bought 3 copies of this CD only to find out it has the same errors when ripping and tried 2 different CD Rom Drives. I also found out the gaps on the disc are weird or unusual. I have ripped a lot of my CDs securely, Test & Copy, comparing with Accurate Rip successfully. I also have no problems whatsoever with my settings as Ive followed every set up guide for each Ripping Software. My problem is only with this particular disc. Hoping for your help guys. Thanks. On this screenshot, it shows the gap on the Disc. This is the Cuesheet generated by EAC, Multiple WAV Files With Gaps...Non CompliantCode: [Select]REM GENRE MetalREM DATE 2002REM DISCID BB11370EREM COMMENT "ExactAudioCopy v1.0b3"FILE "Slapshock-Project 11-41-CD-FLAC-2002-gil\01-Slapshock-Wake Up.wav" WAVE TRACK 01 AUDIO INDEX 01 00:00:00 TRACK 02 AUDIO INDEX 00 04:06:48FILE "Slapshock-Project 11-41-CD-FLAC-2002-gil\02-Slapshock-Satellite Kid.wav" WAVE INDEX 01 00:00:00FILE "Slapshock-Project 11-41-CD-FLAC-2002-gil\03-Slapshock-Countdown.wav" WAVE TRACK 03 AUDIO INDEX 01 00:00:00 TRACK 04 AUDIO INDEX 00 04:51:04FILE "Slapshock-Project 11-41-CD-FLAC-2002-gil\04-Slapshock-Queen Paranoia.wav" WAVE INDEX 01 00:00:00 TRACK 05 AUDIO INDEX 00 04:30:01FILE "Slapshock-Project 11-41-CD-FLAC-2002-gil\05-Slapshock-Swallow.wav" WAVE INDEX 01 00:00:00 TRACK 06 AUDIO INDEX 00 03:57
