Elkasaurus Senior Member 02-18-2010 I assume this error is a result of a corrupted download, but how to fix crc error in rar files first, I want to tell the whole situation. I have a high-end computer. (7.0/7.6 on Windows rating). I played LoL perfectly for ~55 games. Out of the blue, the game started freezing in the summoner loading screen (where you memtest86+ see who you're versing). I couldn't do anything but to reset computer. This fixed itself for a while (after getting 3 left games in my otherwise clean record... very annoyed) but then the problem returned. I did a clean uninstall. I downloaded the newest client to download the game again (takes 10 hours). This time, it was an error about map4 not matching the setup's .cab file. I ignore but then games, when loading the summoners, crashed STRAIGHT away. I did a clean uninstall and redownloaded client, and installed the game (another 10 hours). This time, there were many more errors to do with setup .cab such as riotpoint icon, login.swf and more. When I ignore these errors during installation, when I start up the game, I don't even get to see the log in screen. It just says "loading". Seriously, what can I do so my download is not corrupted? I turned off all my firewalls when downloading. No pauses, no disconnects. Can't league of legends setup just be downloaded as a single setup.exe file? Why does it have to be done through some download client? Also, what's up with the freezing during summoner loading screen? +0 Comment below rating threshold, click here to show it. Postal Twinkie Wrenchman 02-18-2010 Hmm..you might be having additional issues. Have you ran a test to see if your HDD is failing or not? Also after your uninstall are you running a registry cleaner, and doing a disk clean? I will also see if I can dig up a stand alone client for you to download with. We had one on for a bit, it just couldn't be patched is the downside and you would have to do the whole process after every patch. +1 Comment below rating threshold, click here to show it. CRC stands for cyclic redundancy check. It http://kb.winzip.com/kb/entry/41/ is a calculation made from all the data in a file to insure accuracy. When you add a file to a Zip file, WinZip calculates a CRC value for the file and saves the value in https://forum.spore.com/jforum/posts/list/187.page the Zip file. When you later extract the file from the Zip file, WinZip calculates the CRC of the extracted file and compares it to the value stored when the file was zipped. If these two CRC crc error values do not match, the file that was extracted does not match the original file, and WinZip will display a CRC Error message. When the data in a Zip file is damaged, it may not be possible to extract all of the files from the Zip file correctly. Damaged data can affect the entire Zip file, multiple files, or just one file. Why CRC Errors Occur There are many possible causes for data how to fix damage. Among the most common is a transfer error when downloading a Zip file from the internet. Such an error can introduce invalid data into a Zip file. Some other possible causes include exposure of media to excessive temperatures or magnetic fields, cross linked disk sectors, and mechanical problems with disk drives. What to do if a CRC Error Occurs The best solution to the problem of a damaged Zip file is to try to obtain another copy of the file. For example, use your backup copy of the file or get a new copy from the original source. If you obtained the Zip file by downloading it, then downloading it again will almost always solve the problem. A "Last Resort" for CRC Errors If you cannot download a new copy of the Zip file, obtain a replacement disk, or use a backup copy, you may still be able to recover some of your files, and even save portions of the files that are damaged in the Zip file. Here is the recommended procedure. Start WinZip and open the damaged Zip file Use the current available method for unzipping files to a particular folder In the Unzip dialog, select a target folder and click Unzip (XP users - Select the All files/folders in archive radio button and
