I am using a LG 22x DVD-RW Burner Manufacturer : HL-DT-ST Model : DVD-RAM GH22LP20 Revision : 1.01 It has no jumpers on the back of the drive and is connected as Master on the ultra dma crc error only IDE port I have on my motherboard. (It's a Non-SATA drive) Media wise I am using brand name Memorex discs that I haven't had an issue with before. Errors occur at 16x or even 4x (16x rated discs) I am not sure if this issue occured after SP1 or on a fresh install. However I did upgrade the burner as I first suspected a drive malfunction. This one is ultra dma crc error count fix brand new and gives an identical error. It seems it won't write the "Lead-In" information but will burn some useless data to the disc before it spits out the error. Any suggestions or fixes from users that have encountered this problem? DMA should be turned back on. CRC errors can occur due to copy protection not removed from the source and, in your case, I'd say a poor choice of media. Retry your project using Im

I'm just not sure what I should do with the computer set up I have. But here goes.... For the past couple of months I've been trying crc error to get my machine to burn DVDs, ever since I became seriously infected with malware, I desperately need to back up my hard drive. So I got a local repair shop to fit me with a DVD writer when the repaired my computer, seemingly a good deal. Until i realize they had mistakenly put a DVD rom into my machine instead of a DVD writer. Doh So I took it back and they ultra dma crc swapped it for the correct drive and fitted a Pioneer DVD-RW 111 D. But now I can't get that to work either! It's really annoying me and I feel like throwing the whole lot out of the window with myself not far behind it! I'm using Nero and some 8x DVD-R and I don't get why it keeps saying "DMA-driver error, CRC error Burn process failed at 8x (11,080 KB/s)" every time I try to write a disk. Why is it so complicated trying to do something as simple as burning onto a DVD Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Every time I try to burn one I get the same message - "DMA-Driver error, CRC error" and the disc becomes a coaster. Tried both Nero 7.7 and 8.2 with the same results. Also tried Roxio Media Creator - the error was "Logical unit communication failure - Hardware error". I tried reseating the cables to no avail. The burner has no problems reading DVDs either. My mainboard is DFI UT Lanparty NF4 Ultra-D, CPU - Opteron 144, 2gb RAM, Windows XP SP2. Any idea what the problem might be or should I try to return the burner? I got it from ebay so finding and fixing the problem might be easier than trying to return and/or replace the burner. If that still doesn't fix it and if your previous Sata dvdr drive worked then this new Samsung one is indeed faulty. You can buy Drives so cheaply now there is no need to use on-line flee markets like eBay - £20+p&p will get you a 20x DVD+-R with 6x Dual Layer capability. biker Reply With Quot
