Dvd Shrink Crc Error Protection
to aD, A "CRC" error is most often caused by bad media - it could be any of the following: 1. A dirty disc, 2. A scratched disc 3. A poor quality disc (cheap media if it happens during the "Burn" section of your work) 4. A bad disc from the Mfgr. It can also be from a bad optical component in your drive. At this time I don't believe it's your drive at all. If you recently purchased this disc new from a store, I would return it as defective if just cleaning and the proper use of DVD Decrypter doesn't get the job done. I'd like you to check your DVD Decrypter's settings. First, it should be version 3.5.1.0. Go to "Tools", "Settings", set everything to "Default". Then in the "General" tab change, "Removal Method" from "Normal" to "Aggressive", in "File Mode", "tick" Remove PUO's." For ripping in the "ISO Read Mode", "tick" "Remove PUO's" there also. in the "CSS" tab, under "CSS Cracking Method", choose "Brute Force ~> I/O Key Exchange" and "On Failure" choose "Yes". . IMPORTANT: In the "I / O" tab, in the bottom right, "tick" the box which says, "Ignore read errors". This is an excellent setting for dealing with scra

cannot circumvent current copy protections schemes which may manifest in these errors/error messages: Movie playback starts in between or at the end and/or chapters do not playback in order http://forums.afterdawn.com/threads/dvd-shrink-data-error-cyclic-redundancy-check.321265/ Invalid File Structure Invalid Navigation Structure Out of memory Programming error - Exception occurred Parameter Incorrect Data Redundancy Check Error (CRC Error) The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error To remove such protections do a complete backup of such media to your HDD with (use Google): DVDFab HD Decrypter (free trial) AnyDVD (free trial) http://www.dvdshrink.org/support.php and then use Shrink to encode it as usual. Problems with Nero First of all DVD Shrink is a transcoder to shrink movie DVDs, using the Nero engine for automatic burning is just a bonus. Having said that, DVD Shrink works under Vista but Nero only from version 7.x and higher. If you insist on using bloatware but can't get it to work, uninstall both Shrink and Nero and reinstall (not just copy over exes!) Nero before DVD Shrink. After that make sure that Edit > Preferences > File I/O > Enable burning with Nero is checked. If that still doesn't work as well as nothing on this list use free Imgburn which is an advancement of the DVD Decrypter burning engine and uses the same command set. Therefore if want to keep automatic burning and have DVD Decrypter installed on your machine you can copy over 'ImgBurn.exe' and rename it to 'DVDDecrypter.exe' so Shrink uses it with 'ISO Image File and burn with DVD Decrypter' selected as your backup target. The kids favourite DVD http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=153079 at the moment is "Babe", but they are literally loving it to death. 3 year olds love to do stuff by themselves (including load the DVD player), but they have no idea how to treat a DVD properly. I crc error tried to back it up with DVDShrink but the program halts mid-backup with a CRC error, and won't complete the job - probly because of a fingerprint or scratch. However the DVD plays fine all the way through when watching it. How can I back it up? __________________ Hopeless, helpless and mostly harmless Last edited by wot?; 13th April 2009 at 9:52 AM. NOTE: deep gouges on the dvd wont be fixed by above. only dirt and finger prints. __________________ Originally Posted by Randy_Chuggs - I just get down on all fours and suck it out Originally Posted by Subcommandante - Who are DVDA? Clean the disk surface and try to back it up in other dvd drives as they all handle media with errors differently. The disk may benefit from a buff (as they do in the video shop), but it theres a chance it could make it worse. Last edited by bree

Several movies pop up with "data cyclic redundancy error" when trying to rip with DVDshrink. Some other movies, just don't even pull up the files at all. Then there is some where it pulls up a huge list under "main movies" but none of them work or will rip. I don't know what to do to get them to rip. I've tried DVD Decrypter, but it just keeps popping up an I/O error saying "unrecovered read error". I've even tried DVD43 in conjuction with DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink, with no luck. What solution would you recommend that will actually work? Koby View Public Profile Visit Koby's homepage! Although each of the programs you've mentioned continue to prove to be useful/usable with many DVDs, they are fairly old and as a consequence, there are many DVDs these programs CANNOT properly process. Try (freeware version) DVDFabHD Decrypter (Yes, it works with standard DVDs) setarip_old View Public Profile Find More Posts by setarip_old 28th February 2010, 10:57 #4 |Link Koby Registered User Join Date: Feb 2010 Posts: 10 I tried DVDFabHD, and all it did was sit there saying opening video, but it never did.
