Posted on 2003-02-04 Windows 2000 1 Verified Solution 7 Comments 1,894 Views Last Modified: 2007-12-19 hi, I have 20GB partition (FAT32) and i want to resize it to 18GB to have additional 2GB parition. When i crc errors ethernet set things up and press apply, it starts moving data and just after couple of minutes while "clearing truncated partition" i got "Error #45 - CRC error in data". Then it restarts computer and i can't even see the partition (i have to assign it a drive letter in PM to make it visible again). The documentation says that error #45 is about bad sectors. I tried running Norton DiskDoctor and 'chkdsk /r'. chkdsk says i have

Could you provide more detail of what your situation/configuration is? If part of the OS or MFT can not be read in due to bad sectors, then the symptoms you describe can happen. Try using a recovery tool (eg R-Studio) to see if that can attempt to recover any critical data, but if the data is of any value, then I would suggest talking to a data recovery company that is able to get data back from drives with bad sectors.
