DAE error -4 and -9003 OSX 10.4.7 4 x 2.5 G5 (PCIe) 4.5 ram Pro Tools HD3 - 192 - Sync Pro Tools 7.2cs1 Pro Tools crashed and would not restart. On startup DAE error -4, followed by error (-9003). Followed all general troubleshooting short of Pro Tools reinstall. DAE error -4 and -9003 Just had a similar problem except got the DAE error -4 message as I was trying to change my playback engine. DAE error -4 and -9003 Hm, i'm getting DAE Error -4 now, have no idea why... happened when i closed an 88.2 session and started a new 44.1 session... first it said it couldn't change the sample rate on my 192 (although the light changed and i heard it click) then DAE Error -4 and bam, closed out protools. awesome! so many ghosties since update to 7.3.1cs2 (7.3 in general). can't find info on the DAE -4 and digi support not being much of a help yet (web support & emailing directly w/ a tech) 31hz oh, hey, i found if i put dae error -4 in quotes i get a few hits on the support forum site... appears to

The error may be caused by components missing on the card itself (R35, C269, C255, and C10 are the most common). R35 is missing Installing, removing, and shuffling cards is common when troubleshooting Pro Tools|HD issues. Avoid damage by taking the time and effort to install and remove these cards properly. HostTimeoutErr. A DSP did not respond to a command that DAE issued through the DSP's host port interface. Verify that cards are in their proper placement in the computer, seated firmly, and all peripherals are turned on and responding properly, and that the cables are connected. If problem persists, it would indicate a faulty Audio Card. Determine which audio card is at fault by running Digitest or by trying one card at a time.
