Reason: The complete error messages are: “Accelerated Reader* Management has experienced a fatal database error. Please run the Accelerated Reader Data Doctor Utility to try and correct the problem. Error # 16030” OR “Accelerated Reader* Management has experienced a fatal database error. Please run the Accelerated Reader Data Doctor Utility to try and correct the problem. Error # 16041” * This example shows Accelerated Reader. You may see this with other products listed. This issue will occur when you are running Sophos Anti-Virus on your OS X workstation. The real-time scanning interferes with the application’s ability to open and close database files. Resolution: To resolve this issue, you will need to disable real-time scanning which can be done through the preferences of the Sophos Anti-Virus application. While disabling real-time scanning will significantly reduce the errors you encounter, there is a chance you may still see some of those errors when exiting the application while the anti-virus software is still running. Accelerated Math on a network, using Windows 95 workstations (Microsoft Client for Netware Networks) and a Novell Netware server, and I can only get one or two workstations in to the program before I get an error 16041. Why is this happening, and how do I fix it? Reason: The problem is how the Microsoft Client for Netware Networks caches information. For more specific information, see Microsoft Article http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb%3ben-us%3b152186 Resolution: Important: This article contains information about editing the registry. For information about how to do this, view the “Restoring the Registry” Help topic in Regedit.exe or the “Restoring a Registry Key” Help topic in Regedit32.exe. To resolve this issue, you can edit the registry on each of your Windows 95 workstations to turn off read caching by NWRedir.vxd. Read caching by NWRedir can be disabled by http://support.renaissance.com/techkb/techkb/1728714e.asp using Registry Editor to add the following one-byte BINARY value to the registry: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\VxD\NWREDIR\ReadCaching=00 OR You may download this file, readcach.reg, to automatically edit your registry.
