Similiar problem occurs when i try to generate programs using SGEN. I tried to read all records from D020S table, and all the records are displayed correctly. The operating system is AS/400 (i5/OS V5R4). Has anybody encountered similiar problem? 3054Views Re: Database error -901 at SEL access to table D020S Volker Gueldenpfennig Sep 27, 2007 10:11 PM (in response to Przemyslaw Siudzinski) Currently Being Moderated Hi,SQL0901 shows typically in the joblog before that error the real issue, as this one is very generic. So, you should look there and let us know.On the other hand, I would always try to stopsap, dltr3pkg and startsap first ...Often, the problem disappears ...RegardsVolker Gueldenpfennig, consolut.gmbhhttp://www.consolut.de - http://www.4soi.de - http://www.easymarketplace.de Alert Moderator Like (0) Re: Database error -901 at SEL access to table D020S Przemyslaw Siudzinski Sep 28, 2007 12:51 PM (in response to Volker Gueldenpfennig) Currently Being Moderated What is dltr3pkg?And below is the joblog of work process:-trc file: "dev_w1", trc level: 1, release: "700"-* ACTIVE TRACE LEVEL 1 ACTIVE TRACE COMPONENTS all, MJ*M sysno 00M sid SM1M systemid 324 (IBM iSeries with OS400)M relno 7000M patchlevel 0M patchno 75M intno 20050900M make: single threaded, Unicode, 64 bit, optimizedM pid 65M M M Thu Sep 27 16:42:20 2007M kernel runs with dp version 217000(ext=109000) (@(#) DPLIB-INT-VERSION-217000-UC)M length of sys_adm_ext is 572 bytesM ***LOG Q01=> ThInit, WPStart (Workproc 1 1 65) [thxxhead.c 1252]M ThInit: running on host ERPDEVM calling db_connect ...C DB4 SQL Reparse ActivatedC C Thu Sep 27 16:42:23 2007C R3INLPGM: RmtExeLib from /usr/sap/SM1/SYS/exe/run/DBSLDB4RMTC R3INLPGM: RmtExeLib is SAPSM1UCC DBSLENCWT: rc=0, msg=CPF9897 CONCURRENT WRITE IS ENABLED. http://sapbasiskishore.blogspot.in Pages Home Authorization Administration Database Performance Tuning Upgrades FAQs Training Database Difference between these two filesSPFIE and PFILE? What are their advantages? I will answer the second part of your question first (the difference between SPFILE and PFILE). Oracle provides two different types of parameter files that you can use, PFILE and SPFILE. THE PFILE Until Oracle 8i, we were using a text file called the PFILE (parameter file) for setting the database initialization parameters. This PFILE is read at instance startup time to get specific instance characteristics. The PFILE is text based, and can be edited in an editor like vi on UNIX or Notepad on Windows. Any changes that were made in PFILE https://scn.sap.com/thread/576680 would only take effect when the database is restarted Since SAP/Oracle recommends using SPFILE over PFILE, I will provide some details on SPFILE to answer your question in more detail. THE SPFILE In Oracle9i, a new feature called SPFILE (server parameter file) was introduced. SPFILE is a binary file that contains the same information as the old PFILE. SPFILE permits dynamic changes without requiring you to restart that instance. By default, if you do not http://sapbasiskishore.blogspot.com/p/database.html specify PFILE in your STARTUP command, Oracle will use server parameter file (SPFILE). If you choose to use the traditional text initialization parameter file (PFILE), you must specify the PFILE clause when issuing the STARTUP command. The SPFILE is different from the PFILE in that it can not be directly edited. This is because it has a header and footer that contain binary values. Since you can not change a SPFILE directly, Oracle allows you to manage the SPFILE via the ALTER SYSTEM command. When you execute the ALTER SYSTEM command, the parameter change is validated immediately, which helps avoid errors associated with entering an incorrect parameter name or an invalid value. In addition, the ALTER SYSTEM allows you to specify whether you want to update the parameter immediately, update just the SPFILE, or both. All these features help avoid human error associated with manually updating a PFILE. The following example shows how to change the current value of SESSIONS and store the value in the SPFILE. SQL> ALTER SYSTEM SET SESSIONS=200 SCOPE=SPFILE; The new part in this command is the parameter SCOPE. You have the following options for this. SCOPE = SPFILE (For both static and dynamic parameters, changes are recorded in the spfile, and will take effect in the next restart.) SCOPE = MEMORY (For dynamic parameters, changes are applied in memory only

Issue is that i cannot apply wild card search on PSPEL field (Work Breakdown structure) . Requirement was to find cost of warehouse consumption (Movt Type 261,262) for Turnaround Work Orders group by Main Work centers. The query runs fine and give correct result when i paste all Orders but I want to just provide the WBS starting string so it picks all data. When i put T4* in PSPEL field, the error comes up: "WBS does not exist" If i try F4 on the field, click Multiple selection and enter T4* , system prompts: Enter a numeric value Thanks Faisal 0 0 03/26/16--08:21: Re: Batch Characteristics to COPA Contact us about this article

SAP system is full – what to do as Basis consultant Work Processed Overview ( SM51 ) Over many years I have been working alongside ABAP developers and functional consultants. During this time I have been asked many times if a certain job is still running because it seems like it has been running for ever and the programmer or consultant need it to complete asap. So instead of repeating the process of checking for them I will show them how to check the issue for themselves. This is what I want to share with you too. A good start is to check the work processes activity in your SAP system. Checking the Work Processes First of all, you have you need to determine if your SAP system in a single serve
