to start this discussion is correct. My concern: We are using a SAP ECC 6.0 (SAP_BASIS 700, SP-Level 31) on a MS SQL Server. Today I was using the DB02 on this system which jumped directly to the DBA Cockpit. It did not do this on the other two systems of the landscape. Strange? In the system configuration I can see the database entry database error 416 at con (green). Below this part of the screen there are some lines with warnings (yellow) and errors (red) as you can see in the picture here:When I flag the DB entry and click on connection test nothing happens. No error, nothing.Any help on this?Regards and thanks in advanceDaniel 825Views Re: ECC 6.0 on MS SQL Server: Errors using DBACOCKPIT / DB02 S Sriram Feb 18, 2015 6:06 AM (in response to Daniel Masaladzic) Currently Being Moderated Hi Daniel 1. Here, I list out follow key terminology in Sql Server Connection. SNAC - https://scn.sap.com/thread/3699051 A new data access technology that is new in SQL Server 2005, and is a stand alone data access application programming interface that is used for both ODBC and OLEDB. MDAC - Microsoft Data Access Component contains core data access components, such as OLEDB provider and ODBC provider. SqlClient - Access data from within a CLR database object by using the .NET Framework Data Provider for SQL Server. Protocol https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/sql_protocols/2005/10/21/sql-server-2005-connectivity-issue-troubleshoot-part-i/ Prefix: explicitly specify which protocol you want to use to make connection. Supported protocol prefix in Sql Server 2005 includes: “lpc:”, “np:”, “tcp:”, “via:” Last connect cache – contains the fully resolved/specified connection strings for the instances that were successfully connected to. Part I – Connection Fail when SNAC connects to Sql Server 2005 Use osql.exe to simulate the connection string in your application and quick troubleshoot if your application uses ODBC provider and use sqlcmd.exe for OLEDB provider. The error message you https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/sql_protocols/2005/11/14/sql-express-remote-connections/ will get when trying to connect from SQL Native Client will look like this “An error has occurred while http://www.access-programmers.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=254122 establishing a connection to the server when connecting to SQL server 2005, this failure may be caused by the fact that under default settings SQL server does database error not allow remote connection. ( provider: Named Pipes Provider, error: 40 - could not open a connection to SQL server. )”
The solution to this is to enable remove connectivity on SQL Express; see the following link for info on how to do this. http://blogs.msdn.com/sqlexpress/archive/2005/05/05/415084.aspx Brad Sarsfield Comments (45) Cancel reply database error 12154 Name * Email * Website msbarglo says: March 8, 2006 at 6:16 pm I'm having a problem registering a program that has MSDE(sql 2000) embedded in software after entering the CD key I get the following message: "An error occurred attempting to register your copy of Encompass. Reply SQL Server Connectivity says: March 9, 2006 at 1:38 pm This error message is not thrown by SQL Server network layer. Rather it comes from .Net Framework Networking layer. My best guess is that you don't have network connectivity to Encompass online registration center. You can contact Encompass or find solution of .NET netowrking issue on http://forums.microsoft.com/MSDN/ShowForum.aspx?ForumID=40&SiteID=1. I created a reporting ms access database and build reports for distribution to client PC. the database works fine for computers that are not inside the my client's local area network but gives connection failed when connecting using the computers inside the LAN. Please note the computers have connection to the internet and the users are already using then web app on office 365. I have also installed the SQL Native Client driver 11.0 as i have done on the my dev machine which works fine. I have also enabled connecting to the database from any location on the internet.
