Resolving the problem http://support.esri.com/technical-article/000011391 An error message found in the BESRelay.log file similar to: Mon, 15 Oct 2012 18:14:13 -0400 - Secure Server Thread (5020) - SecureServerThread::WaitForSigningKey Error: Database Error: [Microsoft][SQL Native Client][SQL Server]Cannot open database error database "BFEnterprise" requested by the login. (28000:18456) Mon, 15 Oct 2012 18:14:23 -0400 - 4092 - Connection failed: Database Error: [Microsoft][SQL Native Client][SQL Server]Cannot open database "BFEnterprise" requested by the login. The login failed. (37000:4060) This error message and the fact that the console cannot connect to the server database indicates database error microsoft that the user for which the BES Root Server service is logging in as does not exist, does not have DBO rights on the BFEnterprise database, or the password for the user account is expired/invalid. To resolve this problem: Either set the BES Root Server service to login as a user that is provisioned and has DBO rights to the BFEnterprise database. Or, create a user in the database provisioned with DBO rights on the BFEnterprise database and set the BES Root Server service to login as this user. Restart the BES Root Server service and test by attempting to connect to the server/database with the console. These error messages may also appear in the FillDB.log and GatherDB.log files as the FillDB and GatherDB services also need to login as a user that has DBO privileges on the BFEnterprise database as well. Underlying DBMS error Microsoft SQL Server Native Client 10.0: Incorrect syntax near 'INDEX' Error Message The Local Government Information Model XML Workspace document fails to import directly into an ArcSDE database and returns the following error:"Import xml data failedUnderlying DBMS error Microsoft SQL Server Native Client 10.0: Incorrect syntax near 'INDEX'."The link that is affected is listed below:Local Government Information Model for ArcGIS 10 Cause This failure is due to the field names INDEX in the contour feature classes is a reserved field name within SQL Server. The contour feature classes can be found within the Elevation feature dataset within this model. Solution or Workaround There are several options for working around this error so that the Local Government model can be utilized within an ArcSDE SQL Server database. Please choose from one of the following options.Create a new, empty file geodatabase. Once completed, import the Local Government.xml into the file geodatabase, and copy and paste all the data into an ArcSDE geodatabase.Import the Local Government.xml into a file geodatabase, create an XML export and exclude all data within the Elevation feature dataset. After the newly created .xml file has been successfully imported into an ArcSDE geodatabase, copy and paste the Elevation feature dataset from the file geodatabase into the ArcSDE geodatabase. This automatically changes the INDEX field name to INDEX_.From within a file geodatabase, navigate to the contour feature classes located within the Elevation feature dataset, delete those fields named INDEX, and use the fields called ELEVINDEX instead. Once completed, a new .xml can be exported from the file geodatabase and can be imported into an ArcSDE SQL
