The 4 name consists of the following Parts ServerName.DatabaseName.SchemaName.TableName. If the SchemaName is dbo, you can omit it this way DatabaseName..TableName or you need to do this explicitly DatabaseName.dbo.TableName In your case you're missing an extra dot or dbo here from I2b2hive.ont_db_lookup it should be changed to from I2b2hive.dbo.ont_db_lookup or alternatively from I2b2hive..ont_db_lookupPremature optimization is the root of all evil in programming.
