Leave it as a date! omm01-25-2013, 01:16 PMWhy are you converting the date to string and then asking DB2 to convert it back to a date? Leave it as a date! Bacause, it is not working the normal way. First, I have tried fetching the Effective date and assigning it to the end date directly. It was not working. Later, I felt like kettle was converting the Date into time stamp field, So I have tried using Select Values step to format it to just Date format

I'm having problems tring to insert data into the table with the generated unique IDs. Here's the table's layout: Here's how the table was created: Code: create table programs(ID INT NOT NULL PRIMARY KEY GENERATED ALWAYS AS IDENTITY (START WITH 1, INCREMENT BY 1), title varchar(100) not null, description long VARCHAR not null, genre varchar(50) NOT null, channel int not null, starttime timestamp not null, endtime timestamp not null) create table recordings (id int not null primary key, pid int not null) create table channels (id int not null primary key, name varchar(10) not null) alter table programs add foreign key (channel) references channels(id) alter table recordings add foreign key (pid) references programs(id) This gets insterted into the "channels" with no problems: Code: insert into channels values (27, 'AMC') I tried using this, but it didn't work: Code: INSERT INTO programs VALUES ('title1', 'desc1', 'genre1', 27, '2005-05-01 15:00:00.0', '2005-05-01 16:00:0.0') This doesn't work either: Code: INSERT INTO programs (title, description, genre, channel, starttime, endtime) VALUES ('title1', 'desc1', 'genre1', 27, '2005-05-01 15:00:00.0', '2005-05-01 16:00:0.0') Here's the error code for this last one, but I can't figure out what it means: DB2 SQL error: SQLCODE: -1, SQLSTATE: 22007, SQLERRMC: 22007.S.181 Last edited by Force Flow; May 14, 2005 at 12:30.
