To prevent these errors from appearing, open Terminal and execute the following commands: cd /Applications/VLC.app/Contents/Resources/English.lproj/ php disable error messages mv ErrorPanel.nib ErrorPanel.nib.orig This will prevent VLC from being able to show the "Errors and Warnings" inspector window at all. Things That Didn't Work Some other posts in forums around the web, suggest going into Preferences and checking "Quiet Mode" or unchecking "Interface interaction". These don't fix the problem. I also run a program in order to inject error in mpeg2 ts packets. The multicast network and vlc work out pretty well. However I am facing some problems when I use a program to inject errors in video packets (mpeg2 ts). 1. I have checked the traces of wireshark/ethereal whether or not injected errors arrived into vlc. I can see some bytes "0"/errors (depending on my implementation) in the trace. However, I don't see any changes on my screen (which is supposed to show some errors/scrambling pictures on my screen). Is this because vlc can perform error correction and disable/ignore the injected errors? Could you give me more information on this? 2. If vlc performs error correction by default, is there a way to disable it so that I can see changes (errors) on my screen/vlc client (vlc client = vlc running on a workstation to receive multicast video packets)? I ran the following command and played around with the following options. I still don't see the changes. Code: vlc --no-ffmpeg-dr --ffmpeg-vismv=7 --ffmpeg-error-resilience=0 udp:@239.255.0.1:1234 3. The message is VLC media player disable error messages 1.1.9 The Luggage (revision exported) Blocked: call to unsetenv("DBUS_ACTIVATION_ADDRESS") Blocked: call to unsetenv("DBUS_ACTIVATION_BUS_TYPE") [0x85de7cc] dummy interface: using the dummy interface module... Can anyone tell me how to stop this message from coming. Like in gcc, when we don't want warning message to come, we instruct it by giving an option as cc -w program.c Is there anyway, by which I can stop that message from coming. Or is it that solving that problem is the only way to stop it from coming. How to solve it then. Or else can I save those messages in some other file and stop it from coming in terminal, like how we do with this '>' redirection operator in terminal for storing the output somewhere else. Please help me.
