My DVD is unusable...I've updated all my hardware drivers and firmwares but the problem is not resolved. What can I do ?I've Windows 7 64 bits, Nero 9 up to date and my DVD burner is a Samsung SH-S203P.Thank you !PS : I'm French so excuse my english... ;-) wither View Member Profile Jan 16 2010, 06:14 PM Post #2 Advanced Member Group: Members Posts: 21,667 Joined: 30-August 08 Member No.: 8,132,427 There should be a burn log .txt file for the burn. It should be located in the appropriate folder in the following path- C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Roaming\Nero. The name should be something like Neroburningromlog.txt.Open it in Notepad and delete your serial number and then post it here, please.When you made the burn, did you have "verification" turned on?Are you using v9.4.26? However, there are a few things to do first.First, go to the manufacturer's website for your drive and download and install the latest driver. Tried both Nero 7.7 and 8.2 with the same results. Also tried Roxio Media Creator - the error was "Logical unit communication failure - Hardware error". I tried reseating the cables to no avail. The burner has no problems reading DVDs either. My mainboard is DFI UT Lanparty NF4 Ultra-D, CPU - Opteron 144, 2gb RAM, Windows XP SP2. Any idea what the problem might be or should I try to return the burner? I got it from ebay so finding and fixing the problem might be easier than trying to return and/or replace the burner. Member Members 1577 posts Gender:Male Posted 25 January 2009 dma-driver error crc - 03:34 AM enable dma for your writer. is the same happening with the cd writer also ? if error persist on the SATA drive replace SATA cable. uninstall nero completely with nero cleanup utilty. download and install aspi 4.7x drivers for xp restart system install nero and try. replace your ide 40pin cable to 80pin ide cable. I'm just not sure what I should do with the computer set up I have. But here goes.... For the past couple of months I've been trying to get my machine to burn DVDs, ever since I became seriously infected with malware, I desperately need to back up my hard drive. So I got a local repair shop to fit me with a DVD writer when the repaired my computer, seemingly a good deal. Until i realize they had mistakenly put a DVD rom into my machine instead of a DVD writer. Doh So I took it back and they swapped it for the correct drive and fitted a Pioneer DVD-RW 111 D. But now I can't get that to work either! It's really annoying me and I feel like throwing the whole lot out of the window with myself not far behind it! I'm using Nero and some 8x DVD-R and I don't get why it keeps saying "DMA-driver error, CRC error Burn process failed at 8x (11,080 KB/s)" every time I try to write a disk. Why is it so complicated trying to do something as simple as burning onto a DVD Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
