Every time I try to burn one I get the same message - "DMA-Driver error, CRC error" and the disc becomes a coaster. Tried both Nero 7.7 and 8.2 with the same results. Also tried Roxio Media Creator - the error was "Logical unit communication failure - Hardware error". I tried reseating the cables to no avail. The burner has no problems reading DVDs either. My mainboard is DFI UT Lanparty NF4 Ultra-D, CPU - Opteron 144, 2gb RAM, Windows XP SP2. Any idea what the problem might be or should I try to return the burner? I got it from ebay so finding and fixing the problem might be easier than trying to return and/or replace the burner. CRC Error Hi, I'm new here. just joined the forum today. I have this problem which I have never encounter before. Hope all the experts here could http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=119305 help me out. I've recently assembled my new PC with help from a friend. I have 1 DVDROM drive (LG GCR8163B) and 1 DVD-Writer (LG GS-4166B). I tried to burn some data from hard disk using Nero 7.0.8.2 and I got the following error message: "DMA Driver Error. CRC Error". I also tried dvd to dvd copy but got the same error. My http://www.techimo.com/forum/technical-support/174751-dma-driver-error-crc-error.html DVD Writer is Primary Master and DVDROM Primary slave. I swap them around and still get the same error. I then unplug my DVDROM leaving only the DVD Writer. This apparently worked. I also did some experimenting by going into device manager, ATAPI CONTROLLER and changing all primary and secondary transfer mode to PIO. This work but problem is great slow down in speed. Hope somebody here can help me out. I don't want to have only dvd writer working while living out my fully working dvdrom idle. HELP!! I'm just not sure what I should do with the computer set up http://forum.nero.com/nero_eng/topics/using_nero_9_keep_getting_dma_drivrer_error_crc_error_uninstalled_drivers_and_rebooted_still_same_problem_can_someone_advise I have. But here goes.... For the past couple of months I've been trying to get my machine to burn DVDs, ever since I became seriously infected with malware, I desperately need to back up my hard drive. So I got a local dma-driver error repair shop to fit me with a DVD writer when the repaired my computer, seemingly a good deal. Until i realize they had mistakenly put a DVD rom into my machine instead of a DVD writer. Doh So I took it back and they swapped it for the correct drive and fitted a Pioneer DVD-RW 111 D. But now I can't get that to work either! It's really annoying me and I feel like throwing the whole lot out of the window with myself not far behind dma-driver error crc it! I'm using Nero and some 8x DVD-R and I don't get why it keeps saying "DMA-driver error, CRC error Burn process failed at 8x (11,080 KB/s)" every time I try to write a disk. Why is it so complicated trying to do something as simple as burning onto a DVD Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
