What Is Endpoint Mapper
I found that I was receiving the followign error: "a database problem is blocking replication on volume" on one of my DFS partners (server1). I followed the directions in http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/winserverfiles/thread/7599f885-e445-46db-8ead-2ab41af11206 by renaming the dfsrprivate folder. there are no more endpoints available from the endpoint mapper windows 7 After restarting the DFS replication service I checked the report and Server1 has no errors on it. I'm now receiving the following error on Server2: DFS Replication cannot replicate with partner Server1 due to a communication error. The DFS Replication service used partner DNS name server1.mydomain.local, IP address 10.1.1.5, and WINS address Server1 but failed with error ID: 1753 (There are no more endpoints available from the endpoint mapper.). Meanwhile, you can also see Event ID 5002 in the DFS diagnostic report. If I have misunderstanding, please feel free to let me know. Troubleshooting Steps: 1. Please check the all the firewall (including Windows Firewall and other 3rd party firewall among the three servers) to verify that TCP port 135 is not blocked among them. If possible, please turn off the Windows Firewall on both the DFS test servers to check if the error message will re-occur. 2. Please verify that the DFS Replication Service and DFS Namespace Service are Started on both of the DFS server. 3. Please verify that the TCP port that is used by the DFS Replication Service on the replication partner can be accessed. a. Use rpcdump.exe to verify port 135 connectivity and RPC endpoint connectivity. b. Use rpcdump.exe to query the endp

Solved DFS replication issue Posted on 2011-12-29 Active Directory Windows Server 2003 Windows Server 2008 1 Verified Solution 3 Comments 1,998 Views Last Modified: 2012-05-12 Have a 3 sites with 4 domain controllers all 2008 Servers, endpoint mapper Domain is running at 2008 domain functional level. 2 DC are at the main site (fsmo split between them)one at each regional site all global catalogs. AD is setup as per best practice and all seems to be functioning well. If i run the following commands i get no errors as per below repadmin /showrepl shows all replications for all zones to all domain controllers successful repadmin /showsummary shows all successes there are no no failures dcdiag passess all tests However a verbose dcdiag has the following error for all domain controllers [1] Problem: Missing Expected Value Base Object: CN=BENDGC,OU=Domain Controllers,DC=ourdomain,DC=local Base Object Description: "DC Account Object" Value Object Attribute Name: msDFSR-ComputerReferenceBL Value Object Description: "SYSVOL FRS Member Object" Recommended Action: See Knowledge Base Article: Q312862 I have looked at Q312862 but this article is old and references windows 2000 and 2003. This led me to look at DFS which we use to replicate a single directory between 2 sites DFS Health report showed the following DFS Replication cannot replicate with partner BENFILE1 due to a communication error. The DFS Replication service used partner DNS name benfile1.ourdomain.local, IP address xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx, and WINS address benfile1 but failed with error ID: 1753 (There are no more endpoints available from the endpoint mapper.). Event ID: 5002 sysvol replication is OK any suggestions out there One thing i must mention is we did have an issue where DFS was not accessible at a the remote site. This was fixed by reboot
