An example of Our approach Comments: Anonymous We got this on a virtualized domain controller. It came along with event id 1058. The vmware tools were up-to-date. Replacement of http://www.eventid.net/display-eventid-1030-source-Userenv-eventno-1542-phase-1.htm the flexible network card with a e1000 nic (reboot, reconfigure network TCP/IP settings, reboot) solved the problem. x 107 Thurb These errors were logged alongside event 1006. They were simply there because the user had a suspended session on ther server, and the user had changed their password since logging on to that server. To fix just logout of that session or login and update your credentials by locking and unlocking the computer. x 100 Anonymous I haven't given it quite enough time yet, but I may have resolved this by removing some invalid "(same as parent folder)" DNS A records in dnsmgmt under domain, domain\_msdcs\gc, domain\DomainDNSZones, and domain\ForestDNSZones. I tried accessing the GPO in the error by going to \\domain\sysvol\domain\policies\{GPO} and was unable to accessthe first time although I could access \\server\sysvol\domain\policies for each of the servers. Running nslookup showed me the extra invalid record for the domain. No other solutions in here had worked yet. This event is also appearing with error 1058 from Userenv. I'm getting application errors (Event ID 1030 and 1006, source Userenv) and it appears to only be for one user - ME! Event ID 1006 reads: Windows cannot bind to *mydomain.com* domain. (Invalid Credentials). Group Policy processing aborted. Event ID 1030 reads: Windows cannot query for the list of Group Policy objects. Check the event log for possible messages previously logged by error 1030 userenv the policy engine that describes the reason for this. I looked up the ID's on EventID.net but found no real help there. Hoping the spiceworks community can help. I've spent entirely too much time on this, but it's bugging me. Or you are the only user logging into this machine? By the sound of it, you "cloned" or "ghosted" this machine and changed it's name but did not change the Security Identifier (SID) of the machine. Now it seems to be completely confusing the AD -Computers portion. If this is the case: - Remove the machine from the Domain. - Delete the %machinename% from the AD (if still there) - Run an Application called "NEWSID", which is downloadable from here: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb897418.aspx - Re-add to the domain. 0 Chipotle OP Jeremy5285 Sep 5, 2008 at 3:33 UTC Well I am the only one that logs into this machine. I have googled this and tried just about everything I have found online and nothing seems to correct this. My environment is about 50 to 60 end user computers (ALL Windows XP Pro). I have two Domain Controllers, both running Windows 2003 server, setup for redundency (if that is the right terminology). I have not had a chance to check each and every client workstation, but EVERY one I have been on have this error (Attached).I have found a lot of information on this online, but a lot of it referes to 1030 and 1053, 1054, 1058, etc...I DO NOT have any of the other event id's that are ever mentioned, JUST 1030. Also, they seem to occur every two hours on all machines. Thanks in advance.
