Firstly I install old version and then upgrade it to a new version. then when I uninstall the application via Add or Remove Programs I receive the following error: Error 1316.A network error occurred while attempting to read from the file... Then I found cached error 1316 account already exists uninstall .msi and created a log. The following lines: MSI (s) (34:10) [16:45:24:587]: Note: 1: 2203 2: C:\Documents and Settings\vlk\Desktop\QualiWare Execution Framework.msi 3: -2147287038 MSI (s) (34:10) [16:45:24:587]: Note: 1: 1316 2: C:\Documents and Settings\vlk\Desktop\QualiWare Execution Framework.msi made me think that this is because cached .msi file was renamed at some point. Could any body help? The name of the MSI package cannot be changed unless your are using a major upgrade to upgrade the existing package. Also, the 2203 note in the log information indicates the MSI package couldn't be opened because the file couldn't be found (error -2147287038). Windows Installer shouldn't typically require the source MSI package during uninstall. Based on this information, there seems to be another possible issue besides the MSI file being renamed. Can you attach the upgrade and uninstall logs? Reply With Quote 07-31-2008,02:27 AM #3 Kovalenko View Profile View Forum Posts Power User (30+ Posts) Join Date Feb 2008 Posts 54 Thank you for reply. During the installation routine, I get the error message: "Error 1316. The specified account already exists." My only option is to click an OK button. When I click error 1316 that button, I receive a follow up error message: "Installation failed. The installation will be rolled back in the background." I have tried uninstall LF 9.0, rebooting the machine, and reinstalling LF Client 9.2 and get the same error every time. I have tried installing just the client, the client with Admin Console, the CLient with Snapshot, Scanning and account already exists every other possible combination - all of these produce the same error. Any suggestions on how I might resolve this? Thanks! 0 0 Post Link Replies Sort by: Most popular Most popular Oldest to newest Newest to oldest replied on January 17, 2015 This error generally indicates that something related to installation states in general is in flux. I'd suggest try running the Microsoft installation cleanup utility:http://support.microsoft.com/mats/program_install_and_uninstall/enand see if that helps. If not, you'll want to talk to your reseller about opening a support case. 3 0 Post Link replied on January 18, 2015 Hi Justin. Thanks for your input. I ended up uninstalling LF manually (deleting application files, Common Files, AppData files, etc and removing all related registry keys). I then rebooted the machine and tried the LF 9.2 install routine again. That took care of the issue. LF 9.2 is now up and running with all of the components (scanning, Admin Console, Snapshot, PhotoDocs, etc.). We're good to go. Thanks again for the response. 0 0 Post Link Be the first to start a discussion, ask a question, or
