I have uninstalled office 2003 and I have installed office 2007... My OS is WINDOWS 7. To uninstall Office 2003 I usedo REVO uninstaller (advanced mode). Now, every time I open a WORD document there is the following message: "Microsoft Office Word no puede revisar la gramática o la ortografía de este documento. Microsoft Office Word no puede instalar los archivos necesarios debido al error 1605 de windows installer. Esta acción sólo es válida para productos que están instalados actualmente." I then have to cancel the message The command cannot be performed' and then have to click several times on the error relating to the Windows Installer error 1605. I have checked out this error but cannot find anything relevant. I am using Windows 7 64-bit on a desktop machine. Can you help? This issue you're having here is all down to your Word templates, which have become corrupted, either during or after your installation of Office. When Word starts, it tries to load up the templates, but cannot. The usual culprit here is the 'normal' template, which is the standard template Word uses. Because of this, Word has issues starting up, prompting the error. Solving the problem is easy enough, though, and all you need to do is remove the offending template so that Word can recreate a new working one. These templates are located in Word's Startup folder. You may find that the normal template isn't the issue though, so you'll have to use some trial and error to get to the bottom of things. To do this, open up Windows Explorer and then click Tools > Folder Options. Under the View tab, select the option to 'Show hidden files and folders' and click OK. Now navigate to the X:\Users\ USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Word\Startup (where X is the drive Office is installed on, and USERNAME is, of course, your user folder), if any readers have the same issue and are using Windows Xp, then instead navigate to X:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Application Data\Microsoft\Word\Startup Within this Startup folder you'll see the various templates used by Word, one of which will be causing you all the trouble. Next, create a new temporary folder within which you can store templates for testing purposes. Call it whatever you l
