Since the earlier version, 7.0 was manually installed we are now having difficulty un-installing using the .msi file through SCCM 2007. I have running both the "Per-system uninstall" and "Per-user uninstall" and have received the same results. One post specifically notedacontext mismatch between this action is the installation and the uninstallation may exist and that you need to ensure that these match. Not sure how to verify this or if this even the issue? HELP Tuesday, November 13, 2012 4:14 PM Reply | Quote Answers 0 Sign in to vote If you find a command / string you want to run on the client just modify the command line. But create a new program instead of modify the "msi builtin" and advertise that. Did you find a uninstall string of the application in [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall] ? Or as Jason said it could be in [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall] if it was installed on the user. But when you said you had the application in your image i assumed you have the application installed to the computer and not user. only valid for products that are currently installed' when attempting to uninstall VIPRE Modified on: Mon, 13 Apr, 2015 at 2:23 PM PROBLEM When attempting to uninstall VIPRE Home or Business, the following error is received:"This action is only valid for products that are currently installed" ENVIRONMENT VIPRE Antivirus VIPRE Internet Security VIPRE Business VIPRE Business Premium All Supported Environments SOLUTION If VIPRE is listed and is unable to be removed due to the above error, it is likely because there are remnants of VIPRE keys within the registry, specifically in the Uninstall registry hive location listed below:32 bit Operating Systems: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\ 64 bit Operating Systems: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\ It is recommended that the following tool is used first in an attempt to remove VIPRE via automation: http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_UninstallWhen launched, be sure to select the second option to select and apply fixes yourself. Select the "Uninstalling" option and a list will populate with all of the detected installed applications. If VIPRE is listed, select it and click next. Follow the prompts to completely remove VIPRE from the machine. If that does not work:If the Microsoft tool still does not remove VIPRE from the list, it will have to be done manually via the use of the registry editor: Note: Before making any changes to the registry, it is highly recommended that you back up your registry settings. For instructions on how to do this, click here. Hold the Windows Key and press the letter 'R' Type regedit and press enter In the registry editor, navigate to the correct registry hive location as indicated above There will be many folders for different programs that were at one time or are still installed on the system. Each of these folders with randomly generated IDs will need to be checked to verify that the folder is not for a previous VIPRE installation that has remained throughout prior uninstalls or upgrades. When found, the hive needs to be deleted. There may be multiple entries such as this and each needs to be removed before this can be fixed. CAUSE During a previous uninstall or upgrade of VIPRE, the registry entry was not removed properly Did you find it helpful
