How do I resolve the "Error 1810, 1812 or 1920" problems? These problems are related to not being able to start the Ad-Aware service (aawservice.exe). This usually occurs during the final part of installation or startup of the program. To resolve the problem follow http://www.lavasoft.com/mylavasoft/support/faqs/how-do-i-resolve-the-error-1810-1812-or-1920-problems the instructions below: A) Make sure you have Admin Rights In order to install Ad-Aware you will need to be logged in to Windows as an Administrator or have sufficient rights on your Windows user account. Some user accounts may not have sufficient privileges. If you are unsure, contact your system Administrator or the person who has installed Windows on your computer. B) Try to restart the Ad-Aware Service manually 1. Close Ad-Aware 2. Go to Windows Start menu, choose 'Run...', type in 'Services.msc' and in the service window, stop Ad-Aware 2007 Service. 3. Open Ad-Aware to restart the service. C) Use the latest installer If neither of the above works, the Ad-Aware Service has probably been removed or blocked by 3rd party software. I have Win XP. So today, I installed my programs I had such as C Cleaner, Spy Bot Search and Destroy, AVG Antispyware. I also tried to install Ad Aware.First, I accidentally installed a program called Adware, thinking I had clicked on Ad Aware. I removed error 1920 service it. Then, I tried to install Ad Aware. I got an error message saying: "1920 Service aawservice failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services."I did read the FAQs and then I ran Malwarebytes. I formatted my HD and reinstalled Windows XP this past weekend due to ongoing issues. All issues seem to be resolved now. I am running Avast 4.0 Home Edition and Spybot Search & Destroy 1.6. I have been trying to reinstall Adaware as well but get Error 1920 Service aawservice failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privilege to start system services. I have done the following: Verified that Adaware was uninstalled thru add/remove programs Removed any Lavasoft folders that were still on my Hard drive rebooted a gajillion times. Tried Safe mode. I am the computer administrator...or at least I should be I checked ot amke sure there was not any other user accounts and all. Thanks in advance for assistance! Since Spybot and Ad-aware do a lot of the same things, they are probably getting in each others way. I'm only curious.....why do you want all of that on your PC? Sounds to me like a bit of over
