Can't Connect To Mysql Server On 'localhost' (10061) Windows 7
Posted by: Bill Karwin () Date: June 28, 2006 02:56PM The number 2003 in this case is cannot connect to mysql server 10061 a MySQL client-side error code; it is only coincedence that it is also the version of your Windows operating system. 90% of the time, this error is due either http://dev.mysql.com/doc/en/can-not-connect-to-server.html to the MySQL Server not running, or else firewall configuration on the Windows server blocking access on port 3306 (or whatever port your MySQL instance is configured to use). Also see http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.0/en/can-not-connect-to-server.html The sequence of messages output from your script suggests that it might be connecting successfully to retrieve the table structure, etc., and only fails when retrieving rows http://forums.mysql.com/read.php?51,99347,99358 from the SELECT query. But I don't know the code in your script. For instance, it could be retrieving the table structure from a different MySQL instance, or it could be printing all four messages before attempting to connect. Regards, Bill K. The firewall is off and I had added the port 3306, the one that mysql uses. Any recommendation? mysql database-connection sqlyog share|improve this question asked Nov 1 '13 at 13:11 Sterling Diaz 1,13821126 add a comment| 5 Answers 5 active oldest votes up vote 1 down vote Please refer connect to mysql this FAQ which describes how to solve this issue: http://faq.webyog.com/content/23/15/en/error-no-2003-can_t-connect.html Error No. 2003: Can't connect to MySQL server on 'localhost' (or some other host) simply means that connection is not possible for one of the following (or similar) reasons: There is no MySQL server running at the specified host Connection to the MySQL server is not allowed using TCP-IP. Check the 'skip-networking' setting in the MySQL configuration file (my.ini on Windows, my.cnf on Unix/Linux). It shall be commented out like '#skip-networking'. If it is not commented out, then do it and restart the MySQL server for the change to take effect. SQLyog needs to connect using TCP-IP. Some networking issue prevents connection. It could be a network malconfiguration or a firewall issue. When trying to connect to a MySQL server at an ISP this error message often indicates that direct connection to MySQL has been blocked. You must then use HTTP-tunneling or SSH-tunneling to connect. share|improve this answer edited May 12 '14 at 13:43 answered Nov 5 '13 at 12:03 Sathish D 2,9861628 add a comment| Did you find this question interesting? using data connections in large numbers than sooner or later it will stop responding after some time and only way to make it working again is resetting iis service. Asp.Net is using Ephemeral Ports to connect MySql via ODBC but in Windows 2003 server there is no maximum port value defined in registry (surprisingly on Windows XP it is). So after consuming certain number of ports there are no ports available to connect and finally application crashes. I have resolved this issue by creating MaxUserPort value in registry in following way. This has solved my problem. 1. Click Start, click Run, type regedit.exe, and then click OK. 2. Locate and then click the following registry subkey: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters 3. On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click DWORD Value. 4. Type MaxUserPort and then press ENTER. 5. Double-click the MaxUserPort value, and then type the maximum value in decimal or hexadecimal. You must type a number in the range of 500065534 (decimal). Setting this parameter to a value outside of the valid range causes the nearest valid value to be used (5000 or 65534). 6. Click OK. 7. Quit Registry Editor. Warning If you use Registry Editor incorrectly, you may cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. Use this solution on your Own risk. It worked for us also.. Thanks Sandip Venkat March 24, 2008 at 9:50 am Reply I had the same problem and I solved using the component MySQL Connector/NET instead of the usual framework ODBC library. You can take a look here for the documentation http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.0/en/connector-net.html and download source and binaries here http://dev.mysql.com/downloads/connector/net/1.0.html Abx78 May 21, 2008 at 2:21 pm Reply Thanks this helped me a lot. Muhammad Hasnain September 7, 2008 at 1:49 am Reply it really helped thanx i m using version 5,window xp aditya October 23, 2008 at 3:24 pm Reply You get this error due to the amount of connections you are establishing with the server. I had the same message here, and calculating how many trys I was trying, got something about 900*6! So.. how I fixed it? You can change your script to do just ONE try of connection, BUT if you did as I did, this is something near the "impossible". Try it.. Change the functio
