a Flash client as the front end and incorporating the use of Flash Media Server. The application is a multi-user outline builder that allows people to comment on an outline and comment on comments. It's basically an XML structure that multiple users can access simultaneously. Our environment consists of a web server, a database server, and a server running FMIS. All of the load requests are handled by requesting error #2048 flash security settings a PHP file from the web server via a URLLoader in the Flash client. The client and all of the associated PHP files are in the same location on the web server, in the root folder for the web site.I'm not understanding how a 2048 error could occur in this instance. Clearly my understanding is flawed, because it IS occurring, and it's preventing some people from being able to use the application. I've included a crossdomain.xml file in the same folder as the Flash client, since this site and the FMIS server are the only ones it directly accesses. All of the database access is handled via PHP. Does anyone have any experience with running such a configuration? I should add that our web server is running Apache, and the physical hard drive locations of the files are assigned to a virtual directory in Apache for the purposes of hosting multiple sites. I have no idea if that would make a difference or not, but the domain name for the site is covered in the crossdomain.xml file.Any ideas, advice, or sources pointing to better explanations of the security issues than I've found here on the Adobe site would be appreci

Strangely enough it works completely fine in http://superuser.com/questions/859822/getting-flash-error-2048-when-trying-to-use-watchespn-com-on-chrome Firefox. I do have some extensions that might mess with it (Ghostery, Adbock) but I even tried whitelisting ESPN on both extensions (disabling them) and it still doesn't work. I tried searching Google for this error but it was less than helpful. Windows 7 x64 Latest Chrome Let me know if you need any more details. Thanks a ton, that was driving me crazy. For the record I found out it was just the Adobe rule, only had to uncheck that on HTTPS Everywhere; no need to shut the whole extension down: i.imgur.com/ogGftYf.png –Hershizer33 Mar 3 '15 at 14:02 add a comment| You must log in to answer this question. If it's just a regular swf file the provider you use should have nothing to do with it. If you are using a script to stream videos make sure that you meet all the system requirements, including making sure you have all the correct extensions installed.
