Under home directory tab, check the application pool value and then open that application pool from the application pools (separate node in the IIS tree). Click the identity tab and see who is the pool assigned to. For the sake of testing, you can select "Predefined" and select local service from the drop down. Restart IIS and see if things work out for you. Http 503 error is generated by the IIS and it happens when web server sends data stream back to the web site.Verify that all SharePoint services are started, this error might occur because of changing the service account password. You may need to change the new password to application pool or SharePoint timer service. Click the stopped application

Click on application pool and check whether those are running. You could start them in Action pane if any of them needs to get started. Sagir Reply micnet 13 Posts Re: HTTP Error 503. As Ajeet mentioned below, it sounds like a service account credentials problem. Let us know what happens after you update the applicable password and restart the webapp in IIS. ▶ Reply Permalink Reply by David Shumate on September 17, 2013 at 18:12 Does the application pool for that web application appear to be stopped when you go into IIS? Does it stop right after you restart the pool (refresh if needed)? I've seen this issue occur when a web.config for the web application has an error within it (fat fingered issues). Has anything changed with this web application recently? ▶ Reply Permalink Reply by Ashraf Khan on September 19, 2013 at 6:42 Hello David, Yes, Whenever i go into IIS web application appear to be stopped and when i started the webapp its stopped again . Have not done any changes in webapp . How can I solve this? ▶ Reply Permalink Reply by Ajeet Kumar Singh on September 19, 2013 at 9:15 Ashraf, Just check the credentials of App pool and timer service and SharePoint Administration Service (From services.msc) Try to set the credentials password again. This error comes because of credential issue. Sometime we reset the user password and above are working with old password. ▶ Reply Permalink Reply by Ashraf Khan on September 20, 2013 at 5:47 The Issue is fixed now, The Error is because of the service account credentials Thanks pals for you
