when compared to Glassfish. The problem I am having is when I try to run application from browser I am getting the following error in browser, though I do not see any errors or exception in logs. How can I resolve this issue? And why it is taking so much to gets deployed to server? Error 503--Service Unavailable From RFC 2068 Hypertext Transfer Protocol -- HTTP/1.1: 10.5.4 503 Service Unavailable The server is currently unable to handle the request due to a temporary overloading or maintenance of the server. The implication is that this is a temporary condition which will be alleviated after some delay. If known, the length of the delay may be indicated in a Retry-After header. If no Retry-After is given, the client SHOULD handle the response as it would for a 500 response. Note: The existence of the 503 status code does not imply that a server must use it when becoming overloaded. Some servers may wish to simply refuse the connection. java deployment weblogic weblogic11g http-status-code-503 share|improve this question edited Dec 17 '12 at 6:57 asked Dec 17 '12 at 6:49 user

The servlet is to test Common Log
"); out.println(""); out.close(); } /** * @see HttpServlet#doPost(HttpServletRequest request, HttpServletResponse response) */ protected void doPost(HttpServletRequest request, HttpServletResponse response) throws ServletException, IOException { // TODO Auto-generated method stub } }When I deployed this application to the weblogic server, I can visit this servlet. BUT the error is coming when I restart the weblogic server, and visit the servlet firstly, then visit the weblogic console. the error is like below Error 503--Service Unavailable From RFC 2068 Hypertext Transfer Protocol -- HTTP/1.1: 10.5.4 503 Service Unavailable Theonto WebLogic 10 won't run Summary: Applications deployed onto WebLogic 10 won't run https://netbeans.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=103508 Status: RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 106582 Product: obsolete Classification: Unclassified Component: visualweb Version: 6.x Hardware: All All Priority: P3 (vote) TargetMilestone: 6.x Assigned To: _ potingwu QA Contact: http://serverfault.com/questions/291732/503-service-unavailable-error-when-deploying-a-working-ear-file-to-weblogic-serv issues@obsolete URL: Whiteboard: Keywords: Depends on: 106582 Blocks: Show dependency tree /graph Reported: 2007-05-08 20:02 UTC by vieiro Modified: 2008-01-15 21:51 UTC (History) CC List: 1 error 503 user (show) yousufh See Also: Issue Type: DEFECT Exception Report : Attachments Server Log (55.29 KB, application/octet-stream) 2007-06-01 23:45 UTC, Yousuf Haider Details View All Add an attachment (proposed patch, testcase, etc.) Note You need to log in before you can comment on or make changes to this bug. Description vieiro 2007-05-08 20:02:41 UTC Hi, With error 503 service NB6 M9 I can deploy the generated war files onto WebLogic 10 without problems, but the applications won't run because the FacesServlet is not included in the WEB-INF/lib jar files. So as a result all Visual Web Applications won't work on WebLogic 10. Let me know if you need more details (I may be able to get some details by tomorrow). Comment 1 vieiro 2007-06-01 18:25:03 UTC BEA WebLogic 10 has no implicit support for JSF. You can either make a reference to the JSF1.2 libraries (by adding some stuff to the weblogic.xml file) or bundle the JSF1.2 libraries yourself. See: http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs100/webapp/configurejsfandjtsl.html http://www.netbeans.org/servlets/ReadMsg?list=nbdev&msgNo=37889 Comment 2 Yousuf Haider 2007-06-01 23:44:53 UTC Even after adding the JSF and JSTl jars to the project I wasn't able to successfully run the VWP app. Also adding the library references in the weblogic.xml didn't help either. Will attach the server log next. Here is the error I am getting on the browser: Error 503--Service Unavailable From RFC 2068 Hypertext Transfer Protocol --

We had a server migration, so we moved this application to another server with the same weblogic setup. Now, when I try to access the WSDL, I get 503 Service Unavailable error. It is the same exact application. Any guess as to why this is happening? service wsdl weblogic application-server share|improve this question asked Jul 18 '11 at 17:00 Steve migrated from stackoverflow.com Jul 19 '11 at 7:53 This question came from our site for professional and enthusiast programmers. add a comment| 2 Answers 2 active oldest votes up vote 1 down vote One thing to definitely check here is that the application's current status is 'Active', not 'Prepared' - I'm likely telling you things you already know, but there's a two-step deployment process in WebLogic Server 9 and beyond, and an application needs to be deployed (targeted to servers and staged by the deployment process) and then activated. Can you access any other part of the application? What's the web service stack being used? Axis will give you a web application containing test consoles, so it should be possible to access that generated page on the new site to see what kind of response you get. If none of that behaves, there is a specific debug flag related to HTTP communication which might shed some light - weblogic.servlet.HTTPDebug, which you can enable from inside the Administration Console by going to Servers -> and then clicking the Debug tab. Let me know if any of that helps. share|improve this answer answered Jul 19 '11 at 6:14 kevinpowe add a comment| up vote 0 down vote Interesting - 503 means that there is something wrong on the web server. Does any other application run
