HTTP Error 503 Accessing Company Web on SBS 2011 Standard ★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★ August 17, 2011 by SBS Bloggers // 8 Comments Share 0 0 [Today's post comes to us courtesy of Justin Crosby and Damian Leibaschoff from Commercial Technical Support] If your SharePoint service account passwords ever become out-of-sync, you will have issues trying to access http://companyweb. The most common error you will see is “HTTP Error 503. The service is unavailable.” While this is the most common symptom, there are also several others depending on where you look and what account is out-of-sync, we have included many more symptoms toward the end of this post. Background Information In SBS 2011, we use 3 different accounts to run Windows SharePoint Foundation. The accounts we use are spfarm, spsearch, and spwebapp. For security reasons the passwords on these accounts are periodically reset. SharePoint manages the spsearch and spwebapp accounts and the Windows SBS Manager service manages the spfarm account. All of these accounts can be found under MyBusiness > Users > SBS Users. App log- 2280 Event Error 5 times The Module DLL C:\Windows\System32\RPCProxy\RPCProxy.dll failed to load. The data is the error. This has an error of 0000007E (In Words) System Log -5139 Error 5 times A listener channel for https://forums.iis.net/p/1151288/1877461.aspx protocol 'http' in worker process '4040' serving application pool 'AppPool' reported a listener channel failure. This has an error of 8007007E (In Words) Then I receive Event 5002 Application pool 'AppPool' is being automatically disabled due to a series of failures in the process(es) serving that application pool. No Detailed Error. I am running a TS Gateway / Server on this same server, but even if I stop these services I still receive all of the same errors in the Event Viewer. Reply anilr 2343 Posts Microsoft Re: HTTP Error 503 - Service is Unavailable Aug 22, 2008 01:25 PM|anilr|LINK There is a known issue currently with rpc/http (which TS gateway uses) breaking 32-bit worker processes. A fix is in the works for the next service pack. In the meantime, you can workaround by doing one of the following a) Uninstall rpc/http (and therefore TS gateway) b) Use all app-pools in 64-bit mode c) Find the entries for rpcproxy.dll in globalModules and modules in applicationhost.config and add a preCondition="bitness64" to those entries. This should cause your 32-bit app-pools to start working. To make rpc/http work t
Dec 24, 2008. Mike Guest Companyweb on our brand new SBS2008 apparently has stopped working. This has cut off access to Remote Web Workplace as well, http://www.winvistatips.com/threads/company-web-on-sbs2008-service-unavailable-iis-not-starting-defau.670441/ which will be needed over the upcoming holidays. Server was installed two weeks ago and Companyweb/RWW was working quite well. Last night the server was rebooted, and after that, Companyweb returns HTTP Error 503, The service is unavailable. In IIS there are a couple App pools that apparently don't want to start up, including DefaultAppPool, SBS Sharepoint AppPool, SharePoint Central Administration v3, and error 503 WsusPool. I right click on them and start, a few minutes later they go to a stopped state. In Event Viewer/Application I get the following errors: IIS-W3SVC-WP: The Module DLL C:\Windows\system32\RpcProxy\RpcProxy.dll failed to load. The data is the error. Windows SharePoint Services 3 Search: The update cannot be started because the content sources cannot be accessed. Fix the errors and try the update again. the service is Context: Application 'Search', Catalog 'index file on the search server Search' We really have -no- idea why or how this happened or how to get things going again. SBS2008 is a new beastie for us, and this new IIS management center is also completely foreign. Any helpful ideas? Thanks, Mike Osborn Mike, Dec 24, 2008 #1 Advertisements Les Connor Guest Are there any automatic services showing as "stopped"? There is one particular Terminal Services (TS) service that I occasionally have to start manually. -- Les Connor [SBS-MVP] ____________________________ "Mike" <> wrote in message news:... > Companyweb on our brand new SBS2008 apparently has stopped working.
