I was getting the problem I had even with all firewall stuff turned off. Net View "pcnamehere" worked just fine. Just when I tried to use Net View All is where it broke. I am able to access network files, just there are no PCs on the browser. If the service is enabled on several machines, there will be conflicts when electing a machine to reserve thebrowse list. When you use "net view hostname", it is just like accessing \\hostname, not under the same way as getting the browse list. Please remember to click “Mark as Answer” on the post that helps you, and to click “Unmark as Answer” if a marked post does not actually answer your question.
