Canon Ip7240 Error Code 6502
2 Every time I change my printer cartridges on my Canon Pixma MP510 I get the error message 6502. Admittedly the error 6502 oracle cartridges are refills but they have a chip and have always worked in the past. I've tried the re-setting business of holding power button etc but I dont have a resume button so I dont http://fix-your-printer.blogspot.com/2009/03/error-code-6502-on-canon-printer.html know if I'm using the right button (I'm using reset). Can anyone help - printer is about to go out the window. smell, Jul 22, 2010 #1 daz1 Banned Joined: Nov 4, 2006 Messages: 2,664 http://www.ehow.com/how_5711770_reset-canon-ink-cartridge-chip.html daz1, Jul 22, 2010 #2 smell Thread Starter Joined: Jul 22, 2010 Messages: 2 Thanks Dazl. This worked. I didnt get the same menu choices as the directions but madly pressing buttons and https://forums.techguy.org/threads/error-6502-canon-pixma-mp510-printer.937503/ unplugging and plugging in seemed to do the trick. smell, Jul 22, 2010 #3 This thread has been Locked and is not open to further replies. tubes got caught under the housing and jammed the print head against the right hand side of the printer, causing a 6502 Error Code. I fixed http://dav3.net/396/ the jam, and restarted the printer, everything seemed to be normal. The printer went through a startup routine, cleaning heads and what-not, but when it finished the error persisted. I restarted http://www.canon.ie/support/consumer_products/product_ranges/printers/pixma/error_codes/ the machine, and still, the error remained. After a bit of googling, I found the solution: How to RESET the Error code “6502” 1 - Unplug your printer, pausing for effect. error 6502 2 - Plug the printer back in and then: 2a - Press AND HOLD the Power button 2b - Press the Stop button twice 2c - Release the Power button 2d - Press the Stop button a further four times (see notes) notes: - someone reported you may hear beeping, I did not - I think the four button press of the error 6502 canon stop AFTER releasing the Power button may not be required since once the powerbutton was released, the system immediately went into a startup routine, it didn't appear to wait for the stop buttons. But who knows, it was there, I did it, and it worked Author DavePosted on 2010/04/192010/07/09Categories generalTags cis, error, howto, mp620, reset 3 thoughts on “Reset Error Code 6502 - Cannon MP620” simon valeriu says: 2013/04/26 at 07:53 very good method Reply ayrtopia says: 2016/04/14 at 15:09 i used this method almost 3 times or more coz i also saw this on other blogs but then it does not work in my canon IP3680 printer. error 6502 is still appearing. Reply Dave says: 2016/04/16 at 02:16 Sorry to hear that. It's a real bugger when things don't go as they should. I no longer use this inking system and perhaps Canon have changed things up a bit. Remove the print heads and give them a real good clean and make sure when putting everything back in that there is complete freedom of movement and there isn't even the slightest of snags
