Bt Home Hub 5 Error 651

Upgraded yesterday to BT Infinity with a Hub 5. all working fine on Broadband before hand but now the wired connection cannot connect and comes up with error 651. BT technical support could not explain why this was or how to get rid of it. They were happy enough that the Wifi was working ok for all the other devices and I would have to resolve this myself as it is a computer issue. Seen a variety of posts around this but not sure which suggestion is right for my computer. This can often sort out problems. The error message is a Windows error message. Have you tried letting Windows solve the problem by running the Network Diagnostics. You canaccess that by going to the "Network And Sharing Centre" and clicking on any red crosses that you see on your connection picture

Shut down your computer and unplug the modem USB cable from the PC. Ensure that filters are plugged into every phone socket in the house. Do not use a phone extension cable for connecting modem to the socket. After about two minutes, plug back in the modem cable and restart the computer. Allow the operating bt broadband connection system to load completely ensuring that the modem is properly connected and initialised. 2. Make sure no other applications are using your modem. Fax software, etc. 3. Try uninstalling and reinstalling your Broadband modem. Refer to your modem instruction manual or your ISP if they provided you with the modem. I have never had any problems before connecting my pc at my home. Both the ISP and BT have confirmed that the connections are live.Seems very strange that his will work for a short while - then fail to connect - and then mine fails to connect with the same errors?!ANY ideas please as to whats going on here?!!?Thanks · actions · 2003-Feb-4 5:01 am · (locked) wonko3fcVerbum sat sapientijoin:2001-06-02UK wonko3fc Member 2003-Feb-5 4:24 pm I get Error 650 all the time? This means the Remote Network is Not Responding, if you have being able to connect previously and have not changed anything, try logging i
