Posted by Rayno Faro on 09 June 2004 10:00 PM Error 651 : Your modem (or other connecting device) has reported an error.Step 1• If the modem is not dialing and trying to establish a connection then check to make sure that the modem is installed properly and responds to diagnostics.Step 2• Make sure that no other programs are using your modem. Fax software, Supervoice, etc...Step 3• Ctrl-Alt-Delete, if you see RNAAPP loaded, close it and restart.Step 4• If the modem is dialing and trying to establish a connection then try modem driver updates/init strings after checking all of the user settings.Step 5• Uninstall and reinstall dial up networking and recreate the connectionStep 6• Check into line noise.
