I'm not very networking literate.We error 651 windows are switching from Verizon DSL to Comcast. The ethernet cable goes from modem into a router and then to three different Windows 7 PCs.I hook up the Comcast cable modem (no ethernet cable). All the lights but 'Link' come on. I swap the ethernet cable from the Verizon modem to the Comcast modem. Now the 'Link' light comes on orange, blinking furiously, and all three PCs get the famous "Connection has failed with error 651" message.I remove the router and run the ethernet cable directly from the Comcast modem to a PC. The 'Link' light turns to green and the PC connects fine.I replace the first router with another router and get the same "error 651" message again.I try a new ethernet cable from modem to router and still get the "error 651" message.The first router is a two year old Netgear and the second router is a five year old Buffalo. The Netgear works fine with Verizon DSL. The Buffalo worked fine with my Comcast cable modem at my old address a couple of days ago.
