other connecting device) has reported an error. You had tried to restart your PC, your router, your modem etc. and the problem doesn’t go away. The Possible SolutionsIt error 651 the modem has reported an error is not hard to find that there are a number of users encounter this issue on the internet, but surprisingly this error bugs some of the Windows 7 (Beta or even RTM) users and it seems that there is actually no official solution for it.There are, however, a lot of workarounds, suggested, of course, by connection failed with error 651 windows 10 other users. If you have this problem in Windows 7 (or may be Windows Vista/XP as some of the solutions works on these operating systems, too), check out what I have found for the possible solutions for this error:1. Replace the raspppoe.sys in Windows/System32/Drivers directory. (High Risk!) sourceSome of the users claimed that by replacing the raspppoe.sys in Windows 7 with the Vista one seems to be able to solve the problem.I have tried this previously when I was bugged by this error, but it didn't help with the issue and created another error: Error 797. This workaround most likely works on a PC with Windows 7, that had the Error 651 initially.Though, I will not suggest a replacement of this system file as it might cause even more problems if you doesn’t handle it well. However, if you insist of trying your luck, go ahead. If you have problems replacing or renaming due to an error with the TrustedInstaller, check out th

The similar problem happens on Windows Vista or previous versions as well. For example, Error code 678 on Windows XP is equivalent to error code 651 on Windows 7. About that problem, if it happens to you, it is highly recommended to adopt following attempts. Take TD-8616 as an example. 1. Confirm ADSL indicator on TD-8616 is solid on. If it is flashing on or off, excluding a splitter issue, please check the phone line with your ISP and make it synchronized. Since maybe it is not an ISP problem, please hard reset TD-8616. If ADSL light is still not on, please RMA it. If ADSL light is solid on but the problem contin

I got a message "Error 651 - Modem (or other connecting device) has reported an error. My ISP has checked the line to the modem and everyhing is clear, the PC should be working OK since a replacement of the motherboard. My research has revealed that a RassPPOE.sys file can be replaced with a Vista version. I previously had XP so need to know if the XP file will work or if someone can upload the file to here, or email it to me, where I can use it Need to know if this solution will work or if there is a better solution. regards John jrtchunter, #1 2010/02/07 kimsland Inactive Joined: 2009/02/12 Messages: 356 Likes Received: 3 Trophy Points: 108 Computer Experience: Experienced Vista: “raspppoe.sys” > http://www.windowsreference.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/05/raspppoe.zip Although its not needed Imagine installing another older OS system file to fix a new OS fault Anyway you can takedown or rename your current “raspppoe.sys”, then copy the old Vista one to the same location. internet connection/VPN October 29, 2009 Taylor Ling 145 Comments Update (31.12.2009): It can easily see that there are a lot of Windows users have been bugged by this error (this post has occupied one third of the total visits of my blog), and I hope this article can help to solve your problem. But please be aware though, all the solutions were gathered from internet, such as article, forum etc., and I can’t guarantee that they will work for you. If they did, you are always welcomed to reply and let people know what have you done to solve your problem. Else, I am sorry that I couldn’t help you, perhaps you can ask for help from your ISP. I have updated several more possible solutions based on some readers’ replies. You try to initiate the broadband dialer in Windows 7 and only found that it doesn’t work and returned with an error 651: Your modem (or other connecting device) has reported an error. And you had tried to restart your PC, your router, your modem etc. and the problem doesn’t go away. And eventually you want to bang your head to the wall because you can’t solve the problem, nor you can find solution online because you are not able to get online! Same thing happened to me last few days which caused the update of the blog delayed. During some normal surfing, I found out that the connection was hang, thus I just disconnect the internet connection and try to reconnect. But hey, I can’t connect back anymore, with the error 651 while everything (hardware, Windows etc.) were ok. So for a few days, I can’t update my blog and I was trying to find solution for it in the office (don’t tell the boss, won’t ya?). What I have found? It is not hard to find the users that have the same problem as mine on the internet (you might want to praise internet a little bit?), but surprisingly this error seems bugged some Windows 7 (Beta or even RTM) users and it seems there is no official solution for it.
