This error appears to be caused xfinity xbox error 999 by some sort of bandwidth limiting system that Yahoo has put in place on their servers. Once you have exceeded your allotted bandwidth for a specific period of time Yahoo gives you this Error 999 message and doesn't allow you to access the service. People have primarily reported receiving this error when they try to access Yahoo Mail or Yahoo Groups, but other Yahoo services may also be affected. Why has Yahoo done this? Error 999 Message Yea recently yahoo have been resetting a lot of their servers. It's either due to the server being down at the time you are attempting to access your email. Or your IP has been banned on that server (which only lasts 24 if on cable or Dsl, or if you're on dial-up just disconnect from the net and reconnect). So best bet is to just try again later because unless you are attempting to crack yahoo accounts then it's the server that's down. ~Knowledge Equals Power~ Reply With Quote 01-19-2005,11:55 PM #3 Unregistered Guest Actually this error occures if you are accessing yahoo mail through proxy (MS Proxy, ISA etc). But works fine with Direct address. Not sure whether Proxy requests are not allowed by yahoo!!
