A loan was reported on the LAR that shouldn't have been. How would that figure into the allowable error rate? Top Lending Compliance #551405 - 05/19/06 07:00 PM Re: HMDA Error Rate Calculation David Dickinson 10K Club Registered: 11/28/00 Posts: 15919 Loc: Central City, NE I don't know if there are any hard and fast rules on this. Here's how I would do it:Let's say you have 100 LAR entries. 1 entry should not be on the LAR. Now you have 1 error and 99 entries or 1/99%. This would also mean that you have an error in ALL key fields as that entry should not have been made.We wrote an article on HMDA Resubmission Standards that included error tolerances in our June 2005 E-newsletter. You can find the archived e-newsletters at our website. _________________________ David Dickinsonhttp://www.bankerscompliance.com Top #551406 - 05/19/06 10:19 PM Re: HMDA Error Rate Calculation Andy Z 10K Club Registered: 10/27/00 Posts: 25851 Lo

Relative Error Calculation
is the ability to figure out what a statistically valid sample size is from a given population (link error calculation division at the bottom). A simple everyday example is in the case where examiners are coming in and you want to be sure all your wires are BSA compliant. Do you https://www.bankersonline.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/551404/HMDA_Error_Rate_Calculation.html have to check all of them or can you accomplish the same analysis with less work and just take a sampling of the data? Maybe you want to know what your customers think and want to know how many surveys to email out. Or, you might want to test a marketing program and want to know how many to include https://csbcorrespondent.com/blog/how-sample-size-calculator-will-make-you-better-banker-calculator in your test. In a more complicated example, maybe you are a Lean Six Sigma bank and you want to benchmark the accuracy and production time of your credit files. Understanding what a statistically valid sample is for each population is the key to working more productively and more accurately. We have boiled down the math for you and have provided our sample calculator at the end of this article that we use almost daily somewhere in the bank. To understand the basic concepts, bankers need to know three things: Population Size – this is your total universe of items you are trying to measure. It could be customers, potential customers, wires, employees or the number of times people use your drive up. Let’s say we wanted to test a particular group of customers in a commercial checking product to see their level of satisfaction. We start by looking in our core system (FIS Horizon) and querying on this product to determine that there are 38,583 businesses in this product. This is our total population.
