Edit: DO NOT GIVE FULL PERMISSIONS TO WINDOWS FOLDER! *Thanks Synack* James. Last edited by EduTech; 20th August 2009 at 02:36 PM. Bginfo Windows 10
now putting the finishing touches on it. However we are having a really uninstall bginfo strange / annoying issue with BGinfo. Basically it only works for the domain admin account, or for a user who has
Bginfo Error Creating Output File
local admin right on their client machine. We have the GPO set correctly and have checked settings with another domain we manage. We have also checked the bginfo.vbs file and all is fine there http://www.edugeek.net/forums/windows-server-2000-2003/40228-bginfo-error-creating-output-bitmap-file.html ( it has to be because it works, albeit with admin rights). When logging onto a client machine with a normal user, the background doesnt display but when running GPresult, the policy is being applied so to speak. As soon as you grant local admin rights and log out and back in, it appears. We have never had this trouble before - Can anyone shed any light on this http://www.techexams.net/forums/off-topic/39921-bginfo-problem.html or anyone had this issue before? I would have thought this is to do with permissions somewhere but have checked. Ive even granted domain users access to the netlogon share and tried. My virtual machines on my laptop at home also do the same thing? What switches are you using? I believe some only work as an admin. Edit: It looks like the /all switch is what does it. Last edited by dynamik; 02-01-2009 at 02:10 PM. Quote mi

Solved BGInfo Posted on 2007-10-10 Windows OS OS Security MS Forefront-ISA 1 Verified Solution 6 Comments 3,480 Views Last Modified: 2010-07-29 Currently I am using BGInfo to display the ip address, host name, error creating etc of each pc. I need to take away administrator and power user access to all users. Is there a way to force the user's default background to a black screen and use bginfo in white color without having these permissions? I can probably force a background using GPO. I guess the reason for this question is because I do not know what perms users need to have bginfo error creating to change the background. Here is the sample of my bginfo script.
