Report Content as Inappropriate ♦ ♦ New and need help pls Hi all, Just joined the group. I am a Mono and Linux newbie so pls go easy on me. I installed Debian on a VM. error dependency is not satisfiable libappindicator1 Now I wanted to install Mono and develop some ideas I have. To install Mono error dependency is not satisfiable libasound2 (I suspect just the runtime), I ran Terminal and entered ' apt-get install mono-devel '. It went off and downloaded and installed error dependency is not satisfiable gconf-service ubuntu a slew of stuff. Then I figured to develop, I need the IDE so I downloaded the deb file from http://packages.debian.org/wheezy/all/monodevelop/download. But when I run the package, I get the following error:Error: Dependency is not satisfiable: mono-runtime https://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1805154 (>= 2.10.1) Now, looking at what was installed during the runtime installed, I see it only installed .NET 1.1 and .NET 2.0 so the mono develop install makes sense, it needs .NET 3.x installed. First I am I reading that correctly? Second, how do I installed .NET 3.x, I do see that is released. Or am I doing this all wrong? Any help would be appreciated, I am under the gun to get something http://mono.1490590.n4.nabble.com/New-and-need-help-pls-td4492119.html done.thxRalph_______________________________________________ Pkg-mono-devel mailing list [hidden email] http://lists.alioth.debian.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/pkg-mono-devel Jo Shields Reply | Threaded Open this post in threaded view ♦ ♦ | Report Content as Inappropriate ♦ ♦ Re: New and need help pls On Wed, 2012-03-21 at 08:16 -0400, Ralph Krausse wrote: > Hi all, > > > > Just joined the group. I am using the .deb package for Ubuntu 7.10 and installing it through the Ubuntu Software Centre. But when I go to install it, instead error dependency is of the 'Install' button, there is an error message saying 'Error: Dependency is not satisfiable: mono (>=1.1.13)'. I have Mono Runtime 4.0, Mono Runtime 4.0 (Terminal) and MonoDevelop installed on my machine. Any asssistance would be appreciated. This seems to happen at random after clicking various .deb files. Both not-yet-installed and already-installed .deb files cause this, but I am relatively sure that the only two left to be isntalled are codeblocks and codeblock-contrib. Both of those .deb files say they need libfontconfig1 (>= 2.9.0) which I have already installed. apt-get gives this message:libfontconfig1 is already the newest version.0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded.I have tried "dpkg -i *.deb" in the correct folder but it gave errors on those same two files.I have tried sudo apt-get install codeblocks to which I get this error:The following packages have unmet dependencies:codeblocks : Depends: codeblocks-common (= 10.05-2) but it is not going to be installedE: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages.Fixing my broken packages does nothing to fix the problem.Does anyone have a solution to this? I am really surprised to see an error like on a fresh install of Linux with C::B.EDIT: Forgot to mention, the only version of libfontconfig1 in the Software Center is 2.8.0. « Last Edit: August 14, 2013, 05:55:54 am by Monochron » Logged jens Administrator Lives here!
