In order to get version at least 4.8.0, you will need to upgrade to at least 14.04, which has version 4.8.4. Since libstdc++6 is an essential system package, trying to install the 14.04 version manually, or to upgrade it by some other "hacky" method, will probably result in a broken system. share|improve this answer answered May 18 at 6:50 fkraiem 3,2011513 Great! thanks for this information (y) –nieloot.01 May 18 at 6:55 add a comment| Not the answer you're looking for? I downloaded the .deb file from the chrome website, and when I open it, the install buton inside the software center is inactive (I can't click it) and it's telling me dependency is not satisfiable: libcurl3 I did a search for libcurl3 in the Software Center, the three results I'm getting are already installed. Any ideas how to fix this? I also tried installing chromium-browser, but that's not working out neither. I'm getting Package dependencies not resolved and this details block: The following packages have unmet dependencies: chromium-browser: Depends: libgcc1 (>= 1:4.1.1) but 1:4.5.2-8ubuntu4 is to be installed Depends: libxdamage1 (>= 1:1.1) but 1:1.1.3-1ubuntu1 is to be installed Depends: zlib1g (>= 1:1.2.3.3.dfsg) but 1:1.2.3.4.dfsg-3ubuntu3 is to be installed Depends: libnss3-1d (>= 3.12.3) but it is not going to be installed installation google-chrome deb share|improve this

The nylas package doesn't seem to understand the link though (my understanding of deb packages is minimal). I don't know if this is an Ubuntu bug or a bug in the N1 deb package. 👍 6 kornosaurus commented Oct 23, 2015 This fixed it for me too.. kornosaurus commented Oct 23, 2015 This seems to be a electron issue rather then N1.. In my opinion N1 should not depend on obsolete version of libgcrypt. A real solution should be to compile N1 against libgcrypt newer version. renantardelli commented Nov 1, 2015 clobrano is right from my point of view Ubuntu suggest to contact software maintainer rather then messing with security packages, but this is not
