8000 printer, including some PDFs that I created using Adobe Distiller 5.0 using the default "Print" job option (Acrobat 4.0(PDF 1.3) Compatibility), I have the 79.00 FE PRINTER ERROR. My systems support person says that this Compatibility thing is eqivalent to PostScript Level. And our HP 8000 and HP 4050 laser printers do not support PostScript 3; they 79.00fe printer error hp 5000 support only PostScript 2. Because I create the PDFs using 4.0 Compatibility (same as PostScript Level 4?), I am not going to be able to print them on these printers. However, they can be printed on HP 4100, which supports PostScript 3 (even though not Compatbility/PostScript 4). Now my Distiller 5.0 (presumably any higher version too) does not support anything lower than Compatibility 3.0 - it cannot create a PDF of Compatibility 2.1 for example. Now, is Adobe so stupid that it removes this PostScript 2 support from Distiller such that the PDFs it creates cannot be printed on certain printers? Any cure? Any comment? I read http://www.fixyourownprinter.com/reference/errorcodes/h... but it does not really help. This is supposed to be a "follow-up" to a couple of posts under this subject last March. And there is another post titled "Strange 79.00FE errors" complaining about printing PDFs like me but nobody r
printed through. I put in the new printer ID and sent a doc to the printer. The printer showed a Data Error of 79.00FE. The printer

software on my Mac reported "unable to send trailing nul to printer: Broken pipe" 79.00fe printer error hp 4000 I powered down the printer and tried again several times and got the same results. I have a PDF manual on CD 79.00fe printer error hp 8000 and found the same suggestions given by moe in 2008. I removed and cleaned the fuser because it solved my error problems before but it didn't help this time. The manuel didn't give a specific http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/11377-2-remove-00fe-error-message description for this error code. One thing I forgot to mention. Since the last time I printed, Apple had a HP software update that I installed. Do you think it conflicts with an eleven year old printer? If so, I don't know how to get back to the former version. I do have one Time Machine backup from before this update but don't know how to go about changing only the HP http://fixyourownprinter.com/posts/74525 software. Maybe apple can help me. Respond to this 0 First off I assume you have a network card. If so remove it with the power off and power on the printer and then go to the information menu and see if you can do internal prints. If you can there is the possibility the network card has an issue. It could be your software from the MAC. by dmzcompute on Oct 25, 2012 at 6:07pm Add comment Please sign in to comment Update:I tried to print from my Mac desktop instead of my Macbook Pro. I printed a HP read me on firmware. It printed all 16 pages and then the error happened. I was about to print a configuration page and then I heard the sound of a relay and the error displayed. So it doesn't seem to be a network communication problem but could still be. I will try your suggestion in the morning but I will go back to the manual to look again at the possible causes list. It might be a hardware problem. - Joe BigBand 0 Update 2:I didn't do a good job of documenting each test. I powered down and pulled the Jet Direct card. I printed a configuration page. I can't remember fo
Reset. Print a configuration page if you can, remove the Jet Direct, then power on while holding the 'GO' button down. After display reads OFFLINE, http://www.fixyourownprinter.com/posts/20860 the reset is complete. If the error appears before a job is sent then it may be the DIMMS, try removing them to see if the error persists. If that doesnt work try swapping the formatter PCA with another from a known good printer. (4000 and 4050 formatters are different). by unknown on Jul 20, 2004 at 3:37pm Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 Most likely, a bad error hp jetdirect card. After the cold reset, remove the card (with the printer off), and see if the 79 error goes away. it could also be a bad stick of memory...Email me at [emailprotected]..i have several cards and/or memory sticks for sale (fairly cheap). chris by chris on Jul 20, 2004 at 4:03pm Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 Guys, the cold reset thing works perfectly. I just resolved fe printer error an error with the cold reset thanks to you guys. Point to note when cold resetting; Put the printer off and remove the jet direct Power the printer and Press the Go button once. Don't press and hold the Go button when the printer is starting/initializing. (This halts the initializing process and you will stay there till the second coming of Jesus if you are expecting to see something.) The panel should tell you that, configurations are being set to factory defaults, then the offline screen appears. Put the printer off and fix the jet direct back in. Power the printer and watch the 79.00fe error disappear. Great!! by unknown on Aug 18, 2004 at 8:00am Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 I was having a semi-related problem with my LaserJet 4050tn (Laser Jet 4050 tn for the searchers :) )My problem was I had a previous static internal IP set on this printer (192.168.3.110), but when I had to change my router out to get a whole network back online in an emergency (long story), I needed to get this printer onto the 192.168.1.x network.I followed the instructions of turning off the machine, removing the card, doing to cold reboot by holding down Go o
