error. I gather from reading this that this can be caused by either the door switch or the fan itself failing. are there any repairs or test I can do before I call in the pro's ? Many thanks,Allan. 57.07 Error Hp 9050
0 Hi all, I am getting the 57.3 error as well. How do I locate the door switch and fan? I would like to inspect the parts hp laserjet 9050 error codes and remove them for replacement. Are there any good manuals that describe the location of these parts and how to remove them? Thanks,TDK by Post_TDK on Aug 30, 2007 at 7:56am Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 It is always the fan rh7-5294-000cn and not hard to access. Just open the top drawer and remove the drum. Now in the center you will see a fan and there is a little clip you pull on and it opens for access to the fan. Best way to repair if the fan is stuck is to remove the fan but do not cut the wires and remove the label on the fan very slowly and put a drop of light machine oil on the shaft and put the label back on. dust build up on the blades and reassemble and keep you fingers crossed. If it work fine and if not be prepared to pay a fortune for a replacment since on one makes it anymore and be careful since it comes in two different voltages. by dmzcompute on Aug 30, 2007 at 4:01pm Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 You can use generic 12v or 24v 40MM 3W fans (depending which version you have). If you're in the UK you can get both types from RS or Farnell. I think Farnell may have stopped supplying the 3 wire 24v fans though. The proper Canon/HP parts are REALLY expensive and difficult to get hold of - especially now! I used to snip the wires off the old faulty fan, tin the snipped ends and install a miniture terminal block (also available from RS or farnell), and install the replacement fan wires, which are pretinned, into the terminal block. by huckle on Aug 30, 2007 at 4:44pm Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 i purchased " CRC HeavyDuty Silicone: multi-use lubricant "from walmart's Automotive section for only $1.97; *(where they keep WD-40/braked cleaners and stuff).. this stuff works like a charm and cleared up my 57.3 error.(make sure unit is unplugged from power)1. open top drawer,2. remove drum 3. press in the tab on front fan cage (squeeze tabs together)4. Lift hinges out of place5. use small Screw driver to push bottom part of fan (from front side) out of the back of the "fan cage" - there are two
